1. In President Obama's book The Audacity of Hope, he says that we need a universal healthcare system that ensures that employers who already offer healthcare to their employees won't stop doing that. Does anyone know how this is addressed in his actual healthcare plan? Will it be cheaper for the companies to pay the penalty than actually offer the health insurance?
2. People arguing for Obamacare say that we are already paying a lot of money for the uninsured when they go to emergency rooms or use public healthcare facilities. How does Obamacare ensure that people don't just pay the penalty and continue to use these resources as opposed to actually buying healthcare insurance? If people opt for this, won't we just be in the same position we already were in but taxing people who might not be able to afford it?
3. How do we ensure that Obamacare fosters a system where everyone gets quality healthcare instead of it just giving everyone sub-standard healthcare?
These are real concerns I have about the plan.
