BUSINESS OWNERâS RESPONSE TO âYOU DIDNâT BUILD THATâ: KISS MY A**
BUSINESS OWNERâS RESPONSE TO âYOU DIDNâT BUILD THATâ: KISS MY A**

Although several small business owners have already taken the time to correct President Obama for his infamous âYou Didnât Build Thatâ speech, none of them have done it with the bluntness of this this one lumberyard owner.
âI built this business without govât help. Obama can Kiss my ass [emphasis added],â reads a sign outside Gaster Lumber & Hardware in Savannah, Ga.
Owner Ray Gaster decided to put signs with similar messages at all three of his companyâs locations after he heard President Obamaâs Roanoke, Va., speech. A former Vietnam veteran, Gaster told FoxNews.com he built his now 28-year-old business from the ground up â without ever relying on the generosity of government.
âI started on my own,â Gaster said. âThe government wasnât there. We work long, hard hours and what he said is an insult to any businessman.â
Of course, critics have attacked the âharsh rhetoricâ of Gasterâs signs. He argues ârough words were necessary.â
âWhen I heard what he said, I said âIâm going to give him an answer in Chicago languageâsomething heâs used to,ââ he told FoxNews.com. âIf I would have said âDear Mr. PresidentâŚâ there wouldnât have been as strong of a response.â
Gaster sent a photo of his sign to 45 of his personal friends and business acquaintances, Fox reports. His hope is that other businesses will follow his lead and send a strong message to the president.
âWe need to stand up to the criticism coming from our own government. If this economy is to get better, it will be driven by small and independent businesses. We are part of the solution, not the problem,â Gaster said.âI want to use this sign to urge other businesspeople to stand up and say âMr. President, youâre wrong. I built my business,ââ he said. âI represent the majority of business owners in my belief.â
And just in case someone tries to accuse us of taking the president out of context, here are his exact words:
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If youâve got a business â you didnât build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didnât get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.
Team Obama claims the president was just trying to explain how government-funded infrastructure helps businesses grow. And while this is technically true, someone should ask the president this: Where does government get that money?
Quoting Jambo4:
Quoting _Kissy_:Did he develop the electricity going to the sign?
Did he single handily make that banner?
Did he teach his self to spell?
Did he make the clothes on his back? Did he cut down each tree needed to make his store?
And where did the money come from from? God didn't drop a bank from the sky.
yes... let's focus on that... where did the money come from? THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!
So, you have a printing press in your basement?

missed my point? I'll play along... no I don't have a printing press in my basement, but who do you THINK PAID for the press and provided the real capital to back all that money...
THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!
Government is NOTHING without the people allowing it to be there and financing it.

Constitution disagrees.
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfareof the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
To borrow money on the credit of the United States;
To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;
And I believe banks have a role in things also.....

I typed up a bunch of stuff.. but then realized all I need to type is the preamble of the Consititution... "WE the people..." We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Immature.
I expect better from older, business folks.
Oh well.
I'd be embarrassed if I were him-
Of course, the fact that when the president said, "You didn't build that," he was speaking about roads and bridges, not businesses, is irrelevant. The speech was about how we all help and depend on each other's work to achieve our goals. But whatever.

See, I took his speech to focus more on you need government. It takes a "village" so to speak but more from a Government cradle to grave mentality than a we all work together utopia.

Of course that's what he meant. That's why he said "If you own a business...you didn't build that." Must be newspeak.....
Love the sign, and if there were one of these stores around here, I would give them my business over Home Depot and the like.
This administration is reminding me more and more of Audrey saying "FEED ME!!!!!"
