After Obama got elected, I did everything I could to avoid politics. Everytime I heard his voice on TV I'd change the Chanel, he really disgusts me more than any other president we've ever had. Well now I'm slowly getting back into politics because Obama's term is just about over and hopefully for good. I'm not a big Romney fan, but will vote for Romney before Obama any day.At least Romney has respect for human life, something Obama doesn't. For all those who are voting for Obama and not as extremely Liberal as he is, but voting for him out of ignorance knowing nothing about the man I suggest you do some research. Obama is a wolf in sheep's clothes, pretends to care about our country and the people when all he cares about is getting elected. My biggest issue with Obama is when he voted against "The Born Alive Infant Protection Act", not just once but twice and he was the only senator that did. For those who don't know what this Bill is I suggest you google it and look it up, research it and you will find the true character of a man that has not respect for human life. How can you care about human life when you have no compassion for all those unborn babies that were aborted, survived abortions suffering while they were left to die alone a long and painful death. This is the bill that Obama didn't want to pass and his excuse was the language of the bill which was complete BS. The language was the same and had NOTHING to do with any woman's right to have an abortion, all it did was protect that aborted surviving baby to get the medical attention it deserved as they were no longer in the mother's womb had constitutional rights as much as anyone else, being their own person. You want to talk about Civil rights? Lets talk about all these babies civil rights, where were theirs? And this is the man some of you want to vote for? It's one thing to be pro-choice, but this issue has nothing to do with choice, these babies had NO choice. Thank God this bill passed because of President George Bush, he obviously cares about human life. I may not agree with everything he did as president, but I respect the man for doing what's right when it comes to innocent defenseless human lives and I have NO respect for Barack Obama and I honestly don't know how the man can sleep at night. I may not be thrilled about Romney, but he is 100% better than Obama ever will be and he has my vote!

I was somewhat following peacefully until the OP asserted that G.W. Bush respected human life. Then I immediately wanted to vomit in my lap. I'm pro-life, too. But for me, pro-life doesn't end at fetuses. It continues to babies, children, and adults. Many of said babies, children and adults have been killed for no reason whatsoever in a senseless war started by G.W. Bush. The blood of all those innocents is on his hands. Bush isn't even remotely close to being pro-life. One can't be a war mongerer and pro-life at the same time. It doesn't work that way.
Anyone wanting to let a defenseless baby DIE after surving an abortion..which is a "war" in itself against the helpless is the "scourge" of the earth..(imo)..
Obama doubled down on the number of wars...and boots on the ground. You realize that, right?

(720 ILCS 510/6) (from Ch. 38, par. 81-26)
Sec. 6. (1) (a) Any physician who intentionally performs an abortion when, in his medical judgment based on the particular facts of the case before him, there is a reasonable likelihood of sustained survival of the fetus outside the womb, with or without artificial support, shall utilize that method of abortion which, of those he knows to be available, is in his medical judgment most likely to preserve the life and health of the fetus.
(b) The physician shall certify in writing, on a form prescribed by the Department under Section 10 of this Act, the available methods considered and the reasons for choosing the method employed.
(c) Any physician who intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly violates the provisions of Section 6(1)(a) commits a Class 3 felony.
(2) (a) No abortion shall be performed or induced when the fetus is viable unless there is in attendance a physician other than the physician performing or inducing the abortion who shall take control of and provide immediate medical care for any child born alive as a result of the abortion. This requirement shall not apply when, in the medical judgment of the physician performing or inducing the abortion based on the particular facts of the case before him, there exists a medical emergency; in such a case, the physician shall describe the basis of this judgment on the form prescribed by Section 10 of this Act. Any physician who intentionally performs or induces such an abortion and who intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly fails to arrange for the attendance of such a second physician in violation of Section 6(2)(a) commits a Class 3 felony.
(b) Subsequent to the abortion, if a child is born alive, the physician required by Section 6(2)(a) to be in attendance shall exercise the same degree of professional skill, care and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as would be required of a physician providing immediate medical care to a child born alive in the course of a pregnancy termination which was not an abortion. Any such physician who intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly violates Section 6(2)(b) commits a Class 3 felony.

I have no respect for anyone that has no respect for human life, especially AFTER the fact. and in good conscience could never vote for anyone like this. In Obama's case him voting twice against this bill says a lot about his character or lack of it.
Romney = prolife but for the death penalty ??? do you respect him
Romney = wants to take all woman back to the 1800s? do you respect him
sounds like Op hates herself or her own life not the president
I'm for the death penalty as well and innocent human life is a moot point when it comes to a guilty cold blooded murderer. To compare an innocent baby to this is beyond ridiculous! I love myself and this comment is ridiculous as well to take women back to the 1800's is really funny, but then again I'm not one of them hard core feminists that burns my bra either.

I have no problems with a "guilty" cold blooded murderer convicted in a court of law getting the death sentence, especially those that hurt children. So lets not change my post here and derail it, I find it sad that you're ok with this, but say nothing about those babies that survived abortions dying a horrific death with no medical attention though.
Waiting for someone to notice that the law was redundant and not needed, so Obama did not vote for it. Obama already knew that such babies were protected, so the whole concept is a deliberate attempt to mislead people on Obama's character.
Quoting shimamab:
This law was in effect since the 70's requiring care to be given to infants born alive. Obama did NOT vote to let them die.
