It is. Because if you can't keep from getting pregnant, having a job won't matter, since you'll be pregnant and having kids.

Free birth control is not required to keep from getting pregnant, please. Let's see, there is abstinence (always a good plan if you are not in a position to be a parent), purchasing condoms and requiring partners to use them, or forgoing dinner out once a month to pay for your own birth control pills.

A woman has the ultimate control over whether or not she gets pregnant.

True, but in this day and age, abstinence isn't reasonable, we have moved past the dark ages. Also, not a very workable plan for married couples. Sure, condoms work, but the longer you use them, the more they're protection goes down, because latex isn't perfect, and eventually it will rip. My sisters birth control pills are 260 a month. That's a bit more than not eating out, and they are all she can take, she's tried many others. And then, it isn't just birth control they want to not cover and take away. It's also abortion and plan b. And that's my biggest issue. I'm 19, in college, and pregnant. I've also never had sex by choice. I was raped. I didn't use plan b, because I didn't go to a hospital. I am considering abortion, and if people like Romney/Ryan or anyone in the GOP get in office, they would do anything in their power to take away my right to that. Sure, I was raped, but like most women, I didn't report it. So, how would I prove it, if there should be exceptions for rape? Your last statement is false.

I really hate it when people do not give women more credit than this.  We are strong, smart and more than able to take care of ourselves.  I personally am offended when someone says we can not keep from getting pregnant or that we need the life of Julia and have the gov do everything for us.  If we are equal, let's be equal not ask for special treatment.

It's so important to keep it going that they have hired "Momma" Obama plants at Cafemom to keep the chatter going...

I'm not sure what you are getting. Yes, we can take care of ourselves, but forced abstinence because we can't afford or get birth control isn't fair. Some women need birth control for their health. And it isn't just the birth control, its plan b and abortion that would also be greatly reduced in access if the GOP had their way. I don't need the government to do everything for me, but forcing my health insurance to cover my birth control, or allowing me to have abortion, yeah, that's a good thing. Especially if so many women are out of work, how can they pay for their birth control?
