My aunt, who lost several friends and neighbors that day, sent me this:
Eleven years later, I see an airplane in a cerulean sky & feel the sting of tears.
Our fire department bugler played taps at 8:46 and 9:03.
It's a beautiful day here in CT.
I hope that everyone enjoys today and remembers to give extra love and hugs to those around you.
And let's also remember that we are Americans all.
I remember the feeling of unity right after the tragedy and wish America would remember that unity.

I lost my dad in April after 2 of the hardest months in my life. He was a WWII veteran and had an honor guard at his burial. I did fine until they played taps, then I lost it. I know it is NOTHING compared to what others lost, but I'm having a hard time tonight.
