Do you and your dh both have the same view as far as republican, democrat,or independent? My dh and I arent.I am a moderate democrat and he is independent but leans more towards conservatism.Despite our differences ...we spar...but respect one anothers view.In the end we decide together who we want as president...yet at the end of the day we arent in the voters booth together...lol..
Alot of people cant see how with different views we have managed to stay married over 13 years. We both are very passionate, respectful, and adore one another over all.

I just found it interesting, I feel pretty strong in my political beliefs also, but I would be open to marying one of those republicans LOL.

We are both Republicans. Honestly, I couldn't marry a democrat.
That just wasn't a big issue with me so it never came up until the first election we were married... Eh.
Do they have a choice?
If not, how sad to think you can control the minds/choices of adults or future adults.
Quoting Jambo4:I wouldn't have married a Democrat. I just don't mesh with their thinking.
Yes, we are both proudly Republican raising 4 proudly Republican kids. =)
Leading with hate and intolerance only leads to MORE hate and intolerance.
I think it was more that we realized how much alike we were on life issues ... both of us grew up in conservative famlies. We weren't political, per se, when we were dating almost 24 yrs ago but we definitely felt strongly about some of the same things. I guess that's a big part of why we get along and manage our household like we do ... now social issues and raising our kids, that's another story LOL
Quoting Mommy_of_Riley:
Did you (general you) ask your spouse their political affiliation before marrying? LOL!
That just wasn't a big issue with me so it never came up until the first election we were married... Eh.
LOL... are you not a parent? Or has it been too long since you were a teen or child? Really.. how much control did your parents have over you once you became a young adult.
My kids have attended rallies and have shook hands with Mitt Romney. They are as excited about him as I am. Too bad my oldest is a couple months shy of old enough to vote or he'd be in there casting his vote for ROMNEY!
teach them the correct principles and let them govern themselves... ![]()
