Romney's Plan to Create 12 Million New Jobs

Posted by   + Show Post

Jobs Plan Introduction

Mitt Romney’s Plan for a Stronger Middle Class is a five-part proposal for turning around the economy and delivering more jobs and more take-home pay for American families. While President Obama continues looking to big government spending programs as the solution to the nation’s challenges, Mitt understands that it is hardworking Americans in the private sector who will achieve economic growth and job creation. His plan will end the middle class squeeze of declining incomes and rising prices, bring back prosperity, and create 12 million jobs during his first term.

Part one of Mitt’s plan is to achieve energy independence on this continent by 2020. America is blessed with extraordinary natural resources, and developing them will create millions of good jobs – not only in the energy industry, but also in industries like manufacturing that will benefit from more energy at lower prices. America’s economy will boom when the billions of dollars we send overseas for our oil are kept here at home instead.

Part two of the plan is trade that works for America. Mitt believes that trade can offer enormous opportunities for American businesses and workers, but only if they are given a level playing field on which they can compete and win. That is why he will work to open new markets for American goods and services, while also confronting nations like China that cheat on trade and steal American jobs.

Part three is to provide Americans with the skills to succeed through better public schools, better access to higher education, and better retraining programs that help to match unemployed workers with real-world job opportunities.

Part four is to cut the deficit, reducing the size of government and getting the national debt under control so that America remains a place where businesses want to open up shop and hire.

Finally, part five of Mitt’s plan is to champion small business. Small businesses are the engine of job creation in this country, but they will struggle to succeed if taxes and regulations are too burdensome or if a government in Washington does its best to stifle them. Mitt will pursue comprehensive tax reform that lowers tax rates for all Americans, and he will cut back on the red tape that drives up costs and discourages hiring.

This election presents a clear choice, and an important one: Will America once again be the best place in the world to start a business, hire a worker, or find a job? Or will it continue down the path that President Obama’s borrowing and taxing and spending has led? America is still waiting for its economic recovery and, as president, Mitt Romney will deliver it.

GREAT NEWS MoMs! The unemployment rate in the U.S. unexpectedly fell to 7.8 percent in September, the lowest since President Barack Obama took office in January 2009. In spite of the Republican majority 'do nothing congress' that didn't pass Obama's Job's Bill

Stock-index futures climbed after the figures. The contract on the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index expiring in December rose 0.4 percent to 1,462 at 8:50 a.m. in New York.

...

The economy added 114,000 workers last month after a revised 142,000 gain in August that was more than initially estimated, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington. The median estimate of 92 economists surveyed by Bloomberg called for an advance of 115,000. The jobless rate dropped from 8.1 percent and hourly earnings climbed more than forecast.

Well you better start packing your bags ladies and learn a new language, because you will have to move to China if you want a job. :)  Since Mitt Romney wants to send manufacturing overseas for cheap labor. frustratedThat seems to be the Wall Street Punk thing to do.

No, you learn some facts. The percentage of unemployed or underemployed is 14.8%. 7.8% if you count PART-TIME jobs...I never said Obama hasn't created any fulltime jobs, I said that the majority of last months boost is from PT seasonal work, that will go away after the holidays...this is the facts.

The fact are Bradydesire! Obama has also created jobs for people who are trying to get back into the job market. So there are programs that offer on the job training, that may start off part- time and have ended up as full time position. Some of the seasonal jobs are also to help people get back into the work force. The seasonal jobs often have added new skills that perhaps will lead them into a full time postion:)

I'm not denying any of that...however, most of those seasonal jobs will end. The average percentage of seasonal employees that turn permanate is around 10%.

Also, employment rates don't take into account people who are not working and do not receive unemployment. For instance, me. I recently moved to a new state for because my husband got a job transfer, forcing me to leave mine. I do not get unemployment, I do my own job searches without the help of an agency. I am not counted in the unemployment rate.

The actual % of unemployed, but employable, is somewhere in the 20% range. Think of SAHM's. These women are employable. Some of them chose to stay home, but some are forced to do so, because getting a job would cost them more than they bring home when childcare is involved. None if those are counted.

I am very happy that some people are getting relief from these part-time jobs. I just don't think it shows we are coming out of this economic mess because of those jobs.

What does that mean?

What are loopholes?

If you eliminate loopholes what does that do for personal income taxes rates?

The seasonal jobs are offering experience that some of these people can take and use to obtain a new job. Besides would it be any different if a company laid off people, that they have hired. Basically Brandy, when people have jobs, they have incomes, in which they will take their earnings and help rejuvenate our economy. Obama can not promise that you keep your job, he can only offer increntives  to help the economy stimulate growth .

Romney's 5 step plan is very different from what we have gotten the past 4 years.  And Romney is putting himself on the spot - 12 million new jobs is a huge goal.  But as he said, decreasing tax rates, getting rid of extraneous regulation that hurts small businesses, taking advantage of so much domestic energy stores in America, reducing the deficit & national debt, improving education, and not wasting taxpayer money on speculative subsidies (eg, Solyndra) - all will help create jobs.

I'm excited. Republicans need to work outside the MSM, stay focused, and take the flawed polls with a grain of salt. I really think we can win this election.

I love that Romney truly wants to give the government less control and the individual states at the local level, more control.

I thought that's even what the libs wanted as well. I mean weren't they always saying that?

Now there's a candidate that is saying.."I promise I will" and they still won't support him...and solely because those promises are coming from the mouth of a wealthy, white, Republican lol!!

That kind of leads me to believe that libs really do want more government involvement but just as long as that support is with issues they agree with. Such as Roe v Wade, SSM, Marijuana, birth control RX, and abortion.... "just stand by until we have a problem getting our way, until then, keep your nose out of it. lol!".

Well, they can't have it both ways.

The days of being double-minded are over! We can't afford it anymore.

Romney’s Tax Hikes
The candidate is masquerading as a free-marketeer.

By Deroy Murdock

Hot on the heels of his eight-vote Iowa-caucus landslide, Willard Mitt Romney is crisscrossing New Hampshire before Tuesday’s key primary. Romney is masquerading as a limited-government, free-market executive from next-door Massachusetts. From the Golden Gate to the Granite State, voters should greet Romney’s impersonation with a quarryful of skepticism.

In fact, Romney increased taxes by $309 million, mainly on corporations. These tax hikes, described by Romney apologists as “loophole closures,” totaled $128 million in 2003, $95.5 million in 2004, and $85 million in 2005. That final year, Romney proposed $170 million in higher business taxes, the Boston Globe reports. However, the Bay State’s liberal, Democratic legislature balked and approved only the less onerous $85 million increase.

“Tax rates on many corporations almost doubled because of legislation supported by Romney,” Peter Nicholas, chairman of Boston Science Corporation, explained in the Jan. 6, 2008, Boston Herald. “His portrayal of himself as a reliable tax cutter,” Nicholas added, “is undercut by the facts.” Also, Romney raised the tax — from 5.3 to 9.8 percent — on subchapter S corporations owned by business trusts. Nicholas called this 85 percent tax hike “an important disincentive to investment, growth, and job creation.” Joseph Crosby of the Council on State Taxation observed, “Romney went further than any other governor in trying to wring money out of corporations.”

Romney also imposed an additional $432 million in fees for state services by creating new fees or increasing existing ones. He was not dragooned into this by greedy Democratic lawmakers; Romney himself proposed these items. In 2003 alone, Romney concocted or boosted 88 such fees. He charged more money for marriage licenses (from $6 to $12), gun registrations (from $25 to $75), gasoline deliveries ($60 million), real-estate transfers ($175 million), and lots more. Particularly obnoxious was Romney’s $10 fee per Certificate of Blindness. Romney also billed blind people $15 each for discount-travel ID cards.

While Romney can take credit for a $275 million capital-gains-tax rebate, property-tax relief for seniors, and a two-day tax-free shopping holiday, he also must take responsibility for $740.5 million in higher taxes, plus that $85 million in business taxes that he requested and the legislators rejected.
