Romney's Plan to Create 12 Million New Jobs

Posted by   + Show Post

Jobs Plan Introduction

Mitt Romney’s Plan for a Stronger Middle Class is a five-part proposal for turning around the economy and delivering more jobs and more take-home pay for American families. While President Obama continues looking to big government spending programs as the solution to the nation’s challenges, Mitt understands that it is hardworking Americans in the private sector who will achieve economic growth and job creation. His plan will end the middle class squeeze of declining incomes and rising prices, bring back prosperity, and create 12 million jobs during his first term.

Part one of Mitt’s plan is to achieve energy independence on this continent by 2020. America is blessed with extraordinary natural resources, and developing them will create millions of good jobs – not only in the energy industry, but also in industries like manufacturing that will benefit from more energy at lower prices. America’s economy will boom when the billions of dollars we send overseas for our oil are kept here at home instead.

Part two of the plan is trade that works for America. Mitt believes that trade can offer enormous opportunities for American businesses and workers, but only if they are given a level playing field on which they can compete and win. That is why he will work to open new markets for American goods and services, while also confronting nations like China that cheat on trade and steal American jobs.

Part three is to provide Americans with the skills to succeed through better public schools, better access to higher education, and better retraining programs that help to match unemployed workers with real-world job opportunities.

Part four is to cut the deficit, reducing the size of government and getting the national debt under control so that America remains a place where businesses want to open up shop and hire.

Finally, part five of Mitt’s plan is to champion small business. Small businesses are the engine of job creation in this country, but they will struggle to succeed if taxes and regulations are too burdensome or if a government in Washington does its best to stifle them. Mitt will pursue comprehensive tax reform that lowers tax rates for all Americans, and he will cut back on the red tape that drives up costs and discourages hiring.

This election presents a clear choice, and an important one: Will America once again be the best place in the world to start a business, hire a worker, or find a job? Or will it continue down the path that President Obama’s borrowing and taxing and spending has led? America is still waiting for its economic recovery and, as president, Mitt Romney will deliver it.

Hi,

Listen it all sounds good but very vague at the same time.Romney doesnt give the details on how he will do his big bold ideas.

For Example

1)Both Obama and Romney want to produce green jobs.

2)This vague description of import and export is not explained by Romney.Obama does have details and I believe that Romney will use Obamas ideas as his own and call it by another name....he is notorious for this.

Obamas plan is to give tax breaks to manufactures that keep jobs in the states instead of jobs to China. If they outsource they will be taxed higher. How about I betcha that Romney will spin out this same Obama view at the next debate call it by another name and claim its his.

3)Now this one amuses the hell out of me.Romney wants to provide American the skills to succeed with better public schools and retraining....

.......

........

Really......REALLY???

This is already in place with Obamacare he wants to cut????

We have retraining programs through the dept of labor. We have resources at the state with computers newspapers and job listings as well as resume classes, interview classes, how to dress on a job interview...

We have pell grants,head start,loans,medicare,medicaid,unemployment....all because of O B A M A

Oh man.....please dont get me started...lol

5)Im sorry this one is hogwash...how many people become Trumps over night and can afford to hire all theses people and make this economy oh so right again....Common!!

And taxes....wheres Romneys current tax papers??Romney will give tax breaks to ONLY those making over $250,000 a year getting more and more breaks the more millions you make.

This election is very clear, and an important one.America is a great country and we have a president that believes in the American people. We have all the opportunities in the world as long as we live under democracy.Obama has inherited one of the worst financial deficits in history under the Bush republican administration. We are recovering and finally coming out of our recession. If Romney was elected he would deliver his final performance ....your fired...shafted...and live in a depression. You decide...your vote.

My vote ....president Barach Obama

ONCE AGAIN. PUT FORTH YOUR FACTS OF HOW OBAMA HAS BEEN SUCH A GREAT PRESIDENT!

Quoting azaz:

Lisa at least I am thinking correctly! Obama is an great president his track record speaks for it self!!!!

Mitt Romney is nothing but a Wallstreet Pimp!

Quoting Lisa1273:

Look at the big picture.......Why would anyone vote for Obama again with his record from the last 4 years? What are you thinking!

Quoting azaz:

In his acceptance speech for the Republican presidential nomination, former governor Mitt Romney focused more on his biography than his policy positions. But there were moments when his facts went awry or were missing important context.

Let’s take a tour through the rhetoric.

“And unlike the president, I have a plan to create 12 million new jobs.”

This sounds like a pretty bold statement, especially considering that only two presidents — Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton — created more than 12 million jobs. Romney, in fact, says he can reach this same goal, in just four years, though the policy paper issued by his campaign contains few details. It is mostly a collection of policy assertions, such as reducing debt, overhauling the tax code, fostering free trade and so forth.

But, in fact, the number is even less impressive than it sounds. This pledge amounts to an average of 250,000 jobs a month, a far cry from the 500,000 jobs a month that Romney once claimed would be created in a “normal recovery.” In recent months, the economy has averaged about 150,000 jobs a month.

The Congressional Budget Office is required to consider the effects of the so-called “fiscal cliff” if a year-end budget deal is not reached, which many experts believe would push the country into a recession. But even with that caveat, the nonpartisan agency assumes 9.06 million jobs will be created between 2013 and 2017. (This is a revision downward; CBO had estimated 11 million in January.)

Quoting imamomzilla:

 Where did he state that?

Obama sent our tax dollars overseas.

Obama's Stimulus Tax Dollars Used to Create Jobs Overseas

A few weeks ago, the Washington Post and the Obama campaign worked together to attack Governor Mitt Romney with proven lies about outsourcing. Though this attack has been exposed as a lie, that didn't stop Barack Obama from continuing the attack, nor has it stopped his Media Palace Guards from attempting to drag Romney into the trap of responding to these lies.

Rather than make Obama pay a price for lying -- which the media would do to a Republican -- the media chose instead to try to pressure Romney into the no-win debate of attempting to prove a negative, which would've only hurt him more than the lies themselves. Polls now prove Romney made the correct decision.

Another superb decision the Romney campaign made was to take their time, get some facts together, and fight back against Obama's and the Washington Post's lies on offense.

It seems as though our current President, who is now posing as Mr. In-Sourcer-in-Chief, not only squandered nearly a trillion of our dollars on a failed stimulus, but also used our money to create jobs in foreign countries such as France, Italy, Russia, Mexico, and so on and on and on.

RNC Chair Reince Priebus:

What do Finnish cars, Mexican solar panels, and Danish windmills have in common? They were all funded by your tax dollars.

Thanks to President Obama, taxpayer money, mostly in the form of stimulus funds, ended up in the hands of companies overseas. Instead of creating jobs in America, the stimulus and other Obama policies created jobs or sent money to Finland, New Zealand, Indonesia, India, Mexico, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, China, Denmark, South Korea, the Dominican Republic, Thailand, Vietnam, Italy, Russia, Luxembourg, El Salvador, Great Britain, Spain, Japan, and France.

How did this happen? Consider the example of Fisker Automotive. The company received $500 million in loan guarantees from the U.S. government to produce electric cars. Then they took their money and decided to produce their $100,000 electric sports cars in Finland.

President Obama's policies may be spurring job creation in Scandinavia. But here at home, twenty-three million Americans are struggling for work. Millions of middle class families can barely make ends meet.

The billions of dollars that went overseas largely had to be borrowed. In other words, President Obama borrowed money from countries like China to send money to... countries like China. It's that kind of reckless spending that led President Obama to rack up $5.6 trillion in debt over the last three and a half years, bringing our total national debt to $15.8 trillion.

Priebus will officially unveil all of this later today in the swing state of Iowa, and a website called "Obamanomics Outsourced" goes into great detail showing how your tax dollars and mine benefitted and created jobs in over a dozen countries not named America.

What we all know, of course, is that the very same media currently obsessed with outsourcing will never give the damning fact that Obama used our tax dollars to create jobs overseas the attention it deserves for one simple reason: it is a damning fact.

Not only does it prove the hypocrisy of President In-Sourcer, it goes straight to the heart of his failed stimulus and overall economy.

Good for the Romney campaign, though. They refused to get dragged into a media-created lie and a debate they couldn’t win -- refused to be put on defense -- and now have facts to fight the fire of the media's and Obama's lies.

Because the Romney case is so strong in their counter-attack, my guess is that both Obama and his Media Palace Guards will suddenly find outsourcing a less interesting topic.

Which is still a win for our side.

What does that mean?

If you eliminate loopholes what does that do for personal income taxes rates?

I would imagine that it is fairly impossible to know exactly which loopholes need closing without being able to look at each one. BTW - Loopholes are the things that some people & business use, usually unfairly to lower their tax liability. Sort of like George Kaiser whose corporation didn't pay any taxes for 10 years and the time he did, managed to claim wages that worked out to about $5.50 an hour. Or G.E., who despite record profits in 2010 paid zero taxes as well and who may have been working a deal to purchase products from China. Romney closed loopholes as Governor and turned MA around. Personal income tax rates shouldn't be affected unless someone is making bogus deductions, that's tax evasion or fraud. What is going to be devastating to personal income taxes is the 'taxes' we will be assessed for Obamacare as well as ending the Bush tax cuts. To put it simply, we'll all be screwed and I don't think Obama gives a rat's ass about us 'little people'. He seems to gloat in the fact most families will be facing an additional $4.000 or so in yearly taxes.

Also, how many people heard Obama, on at least 2 or 3 occasions during the debate, refer to Obamacare as a "Law"? Is that what we're calling it now?

Oh please, people need to get off that crap. PBS does not get their major funding from the government. Hey, I love PBS just as well as the next person but until we can get back on our feet, some things will have to give. Sort of like when a family needs to cut back on their spending, which is more important, food or cable T.V.?  School supplies or a manicure? Understand that concept? It's all about what is the most important at the time. People need to have jobs in order to afford the cable T.V. or manicures.

President Obama has a plan to bring jobs back to the U.S.

Mitt Romney has a plan that would encourage companies to ship jobs overseas

President Obama is working to bring jobs back to the U.S. by eliminating tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. Mitt Romney would keep tax incentives for shipping jobs overseas and encourage further outsourcing by eliminating taxes on American companies’ foreign profits.

  • “That starts with us changing our tax code so we stop giving tax breaks to companies that are shipping jobs overseas.”
  • Eliminate tax breaks for companies that outsource American jobs
  • Create tax incentives for businesses bringing jobs back home
  • Invest in education and training programs for American workers
  • Make tax cuts for the middle class permanent
  • Double exports and create one million new manufacturing jobs
  • Romney led investments in companies that were "pioneers" in the practice of shipping U.S. jobs overseas
  • Protect tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas
  • Encourage outsourcing by eliminating taxes on companies’ foreign profits
  • Slash funding for education and jobs skills training even as he gives deep new tax breaks to the wealthy
  • Raise taxes on middle class families, while giving the wealthy new tax cuts
  • Cut export promotion and provide new tax incentives to move jobs overseas

Why is that we continually hear, "Obama's Plan..." over & over? I want to know WHY ISN'T HE DOING THIS NOW? He's had 4  f****ing years and he hasn't done a damn thing about all this. But NOW he has plans? Sorry, party's over, everybody out of the pool. It's time to give the next person a chance. You shouldn't have taken us for granted.

 He did?  Really?!'

Hot on the heels of his eight-vote Iowa-caucus landslide, Willard Mitt Romney is crisscrossing New Hampshire before Tuesday’s key primary. Romney is masquerading as a limited-government, free-market executive from next-door Massachusetts. From the Golden Gate to the Granite State, voters should greet Romney’s impersonation with a quarryful of skepticism.

In fact, Romney increased taxes by $309 million, mainly on corporations. These tax hikes, described by Romney apologists as “loophole closures,” totaled $128 million in 2003, $95.5 million in 2004, and $85 million in 2005. That final year, Romney proposed $170 million in higher business taxes, the Boston Globe reports. However, the Bay State’s liberal, Democratic legislature balked and approved only the less onerous $85 million increase.

“Tax rates on many corporations almost doubled because of legislation supported by Romney,” Peter Nicholas, chairman of Boston Science Corporation, explained in the Jan. 6, 2008, Boston Herald. “His portrayal of himself as a reliable tax cutter,” Nicholas added, “is undercut by the facts.” Also, Romney raised the tax — from 5.3 to 9.8 percent — on subchapter S corporations owned by business trusts. Nicholas called this 85 percent tax hike “an important disincentive to investment, growth, and job creation.” Joseph Crosby of the Council on State Taxation observed, “Romney went further than any other governor in trying to wring money out of corporations.”

Romney also imposed an additional $432 million in fees for state services by creating new fees or increasing existing ones. He was not dragooned into this by greedy Democratic lawmakers; Romney himself proposed these items. In 2003 alone, Romney concocted or boosted 88 such fees. He charged more money for marriage licenses (from $6 to $12), gun registrations (from $25 to $75), gasoline deliveries ($60 million), real-estate transfers ($175 million), and lots more. Particularly obnoxious was Romney’s $10 fee per Certificate of Blindness. Romney also billed blind people $15 each for discount-travel ID cards.

While Romney can take credit for a $275 million capital-gains-tax rebate, property-tax relief for seniors, and a two-day tax-free shopping holiday, he also must take responsibility for $740.5 million in higher taxes, plus that $85 million in business taxes that he requested and the legislators rejected.

Azaz, these part time, seasonal jobs really have very little, or nothing to do with Obama's success.  They are merely stores and business hiring temporary help to cover the extra store hours and volume of people Christmas shopping.  It happens at this time every year.  No way can Obama take credit for this.  These jobs are nearly always minimum wage and around 20 hours per week.  Not much of a living.  These employees aren't likely to be spending their hard earned money on anything but bare neccessities like food, housing and utilities.

Quoting azaz:

The seasonal jobs are offering experience that some of these people can take and use to obtain a new job. Besides would it be any different if a company laid off people, that they have hired. Basically Brandy, when people have jobs, they have incomes, in which they will take their earnings and help rejuvenate our economy. Obama can not promise that you keep your job, he can only offer increntives  to help the economy stimulate growth .

Quoting brandydesiree:

I'm not denying any of that...however, most of those seasonal jobs will end. The average percentage of seasonal employees that turn permanate is around 10%.

Also, employment rates don't take into account people who are not working and do not receive unemployment. For instance, me. I recently moved to a new state for because my husband got a job transfer, forcing me to leave mine. I do not get unemployment, I do my own job searches without the help of an agency. I am not counted in the unemployment rate.

The actual % of unemployed, but employable, is somewhere in the 20% range. Think of SAHM's. These women are employable. Some of them chose to stay home, but some are forced to do so, because getting a job would cost them more than they bring home when childcare is involved. None if those are counted.

I am very happy that some people are getting relief from these part-time jobs. I just don't think it shows we are coming out of this economic mess because of those jobs.

Quoting azaz:

The fact are Bradydesire! Obama has also created jobs for people who are trying to get back into the job market. So there are programs that offer on the job training, that may start off part- time and have ended up as full time position. Some of the seasonal jobs are also to help people get back into the work force. The seasonal jobs often have added new skills that perhaps will lead them into a full time postion:)

Quoting bradydesiree:

No, you learn some facts. The percentage of unemployed or underemployed is 14.8%. 7.8% if you count PART-TIME jobs...I never said Obama hasn't created any fulltime jobs, I said that the majority of last months boost is from PT seasonal work, that will go away after the holidays...this is the facts.

Quoting azaz:

Bogus Brandydesiree! Obama has created full time jobs and part time jobs, under his Administration. Try again with some facts this time please. :) LOL
