Romney's Plan to Create 12 Million New Jobs

Posted by   + Show Post

Jobs Plan Introduction

Mitt Romney’s Plan for a Stronger Middle Class is a five-part proposal for turning around the economy and delivering more jobs and more take-home pay for American families. While President Obama continues looking to big government spending programs as the solution to the nation’s challenges, Mitt understands that it is hardworking Americans in the private sector who will achieve economic growth and job creation. His plan will end the middle class squeeze of declining incomes and rising prices, bring back prosperity, and create 12 million jobs during his first term.

Part one of Mitt’s plan is to achieve energy independence on this continent by 2020. America is blessed with extraordinary natural resources, and developing them will create millions of good jobs – not only in the energy industry, but also in industries like manufacturing that will benefit from more energy at lower prices. America’s economy will boom when the billions of dollars we send overseas for our oil are kept here at home instead.

Part two of the plan is trade that works for America. Mitt believes that trade can offer enormous opportunities for American businesses and workers, but only if they are given a level playing field on which they can compete and win. That is why he will work to open new markets for American goods and services, while also confronting nations like China that cheat on trade and steal American jobs.

Part three is to provide Americans with the skills to succeed through better public schools, better access to higher education, and better retraining programs that help to match unemployed workers with real-world job opportunities.

Part four is to cut the deficit, reducing the size of government and getting the national debt under control so that America remains a place where businesses want to open up shop and hire.

Finally, part five of Mitt’s plan is to champion small business. Small businesses are the engine of job creation in this country, but they will struggle to succeed if taxes and regulations are too burdensome or if a government in Washington does its best to stifle them. Mitt will pursue comprehensive tax reform that lowers tax rates for all Americans, and he will cut back on the red tape that drives up costs and discourages hiring.

This election presents a clear choice, and an important one: Will America once again be the best place in the world to start a business, hire a worker, or find a job? Or will it continue down the path that President Obama’s borrowing and taxing and spending has led? America is still waiting for its economic recovery and, as president, Mitt Romney will deliver it.

LOL! What "AIN"T GONNA HAPPEN " Lacey 14 is "for a whole lot of reasons"  is you Ain't Gonna GET it dear and nor did I expect you too! This information is just way over your head! Good luck! sarcasm

Quoting Lacey14:

1. Yes, no doubt those who have found part time jobs, are very happy right now.

2. I don't believe the president is responsible for the success of one's job (??)

3. My a$$ and I are doing just fine as we are, but thanks for the advice.

4. I don't need to find an excuse for not voting for Obama.  It ain't gonna happen for a whole lot of reasons.

Quoting azaz:

Well guess what Lacey14?  The mire fact that there are extra seasonal and part-time jobs is a plus, and let me mention the fact that the people who have taken these job are able to spend the money that they make on bills, food and grocery ect…  from these jobs is helping to recirculate the dollar and build our economy.  Besides Business don't just magically happen to have the money to be able to hire people, they earn it from the people who have jobs and pay for their good and services with their hard earned money.   When building a better economy it takes the whole village, and not only is our President responsible for the success of our jobs and the economy growing,  but, so are the people who stepped forward and took these part-time jobs! At least these people took action, instead of setting around complaining and  doing nothing but pointing fingers. Our entire nation as a whole is responsible for building our economy, even down to the part- time job workers.  For ever dollar that they earn,  and recycled back into our economy  including  rent,  utilities,  buying grocery ect… whether bare minimum or not,  are dollar bills that are recirculating back into are economy.  This will allow us   to have a stronger economy that will open more doors for full time positions and new job openings and new business. As long as those Venture capitalist don't come in and close all the business like Mitt Romney.  Lacy14 your augment is that the part-time jobs are not much of a living, well then it is time to get off your ass go back to school, sign up for job training  or apply for a full time job or part-time job with training or create your own business, do something instead of trying to find an excuse for why you won’t vote for President Obama.

Quoting Lacey14:

Azaz, these part time, seasonal jobs really have very little, or nothing to do with Obama's success.  They are merely stores and business hiring temporary help to cover the extra store hours and volume of people Christmas shopping.  It happens at this time every year.  No way can Obama take credit for this.  These jobs are nearly always minimum wage and around 20 hours per week.  Not much of a living.  These employees aren't likely to be spending their hard earned money on anything but bare neccessities like food, housing and utilities.

Quoting azaz:

The seasonal jobs are offering experience that some of these people can take and use to obtain a new job. Besides would it be any different if a company laid off people, that they have hired. Basically Brandy, when people have jobs, they have incomes, in which they will take their earnings and help rejuvenate our economy. Obama can not promise that you keep your job, he can only offer increntives  to help the economy stimulate growth .

Quoting brandydesiree:

I'm not denying any of that...however, most of those seasonal jobs will end. The average percentage of seasonal employees that turn permanate is around 10%.

Also, employment rates don't take into account people who are not working and do not receive unemployment. For instance, me. I recently moved to a new state for because my husband got a job transfer, forcing me to leave mine. I do not get unemployment, I do my own job searches without the help of an agency. I am not counted in the unemployment rate.

The actual % of unemployed, but employable, is somewhere in the 20% range. Think of SAHM's. These women are employable. Some of them chose to stay home, but some are forced to do so, because getting a job would cost them more than they bring home when childcare is involved. None if those are counted.

I am very happy that some people are getting relief from these part-time jobs. I just don't think it shows we are coming out of this economic mess because of those jobs.

Quoting azaz:

The fact are Bradydesire! Obama has also created jobs for people who are trying to get back into the job market. So there are programs that offer on the job training, that may start off part- time and have ended up as full time position. Some of the seasonal jobs are also to help people get back into the work force. The seasonal jobs often have added new skills that perhaps will lead them into a full time postion:)

Quoting bradydesiree:

No, you learn some facts. The percentage of unemployed or underemployed is 14.8%. 7.8% if you count PART-TIME jobs...I never said Obama hasn't created any fulltime jobs, I said that the majority of last months boost is from PT seasonal work, that will go away after the holidays...this is the facts.

Quoting azaz:

So Romney's plan is:

1) achieve energy independence

2) increase trade

3) provide Americans with more skills

4) cut the deficit

5) champion small business.

Way to go on specifics, there.

He might as well have said his plan is to love America.

Which parts of government does he plan to cut/reduce?  I'm glad he has a plan, but how is he going to do all of this?

You are misleading, because you didn't highlight the whole sentence.  The poster that I quoted, said "not only is the president responsible for the success of our jobs..."  I said I don't believe the president is responsible for the success of one's job.  He is not responsible for whether one gets a job or not, and he is not responsible for the success of that job.  Whether anyone is successful or not, is up to the individual.  I do hold him accountable for the success of the economy and the downfall, which limits available jobs.

There isn't much to "get" in your post.  Your whole argument, is that Obama is the one to commend for the spurt of recent employment growth.  Some of us are saying the growth is temporary, due to the holiday season, which is part time jobs, paying minimum wage, for an average of 20 hrs. per week.  This is a good temporary fix for the employee, but it is just for a few weeks.

If the economy is doing well, then sales will be up and that will help put money back into circulation.  But, we'll have to wait and see.  In January, most of these employees will be unemployed again.  Possibly, even some businesses that didn't do well, could close after the holidays, and put even more people out of work.   Ironically, if Romney wins the election, Dems will fault him for the downfall of employment in January.  If Obama wins another term, Dems will then say, it was just temporary jobs anyway.

Sustained job creation and business expansion is only viable by having continual customer demand for goods and services and people with liquid cash- This goes beyond the control of and policies made by any president.

We have clearly learned little in the last 12 years.

Whole lot people wishing and hoping, again.
