See, its the opposite here. It is hard enough being a non christian, non mormon in the area I live in, it takes a lot of time to earn the respect of the people around you if you are not. I only openly talk about my political views here on cafe mom. If I were to say I am a liberal, I really honestly think my mil would disown me and make life difficult. The rest of the communtiy is similar. They way many of them talk about liberals, I seriously would be afraid to have an open political disscussion with anyone (except a few close friends).

Warning....the far left who hate Republican Candidates and use death threats!

THIS is why I tell my husband...KEEP your politics to yourself..if you think some get upset by mistaking  you for an ILLEGAL wait till some  find out you are a conservative.. Man this country is messed up.

I live in a red state but in a liberal area (resort).. you want to trade places? : )

So I am supposed to be against Romney because he is rich?

Nonsense.

From the sounds of it, you know little next to nothing of Romney. You do not seem to know that as Governor he worked with the Boston 10 Point Coalition for at-risk youth, that he signed hundreds of millions into funding for permanent housing for the homeless, he signed a market-based plan for universal healthcare by working with Republicans AND Democrats of which most Massachusetts citizens approve.

Romney wants to cut taxes for everyone, meaning cutting ours and yours 20 percent. We don't make more than 250K. Then there will be loopholes and deductions closed that will mean the higher incomes won't have a net cut in the end. And of course Romney favors school choice for parents, so they won't be stuck with a poor-performing schools, he supports more effective federal training funding, he supports energy policy promoting manufacturing in the US, to boost production and jobs.

Prove to me that you can be reasonable, with some facts.

I'm sure there are plenty of nazi mentality right extremist, and redneck cultured people who despise Obama just because.I would rather focus on the facts and truths of this election than use race and scare tactics to win Romney support.

I am an Obama supporter... but for those of you who are voting for Romney and make under $250,000 a year are the delirious ones!!

Have you not noticed Romney's favorite color is green??If you aren't rich you aren't his class whether you are white or not.Obama cares about every race and all Americans.

I am Mormon, and I grew up in the Bible Belt...I can imagine what it might be like for you in a high Mormon area of Utah, Arizona, or Idaho.  Feel free to talk to me :)

I had a woman tell me 2 nights ago that if Romney gets elected he is going to stop all food stamps immediately, cut off medicaid and close Head Start, she said that all schools will be private and if you want your kids to go to school you will have to pay the difference in your voucher and the tuition.  She also said that Romney will stop making people pay taxes on anything over a million dollars. And before someone jumps on me, she was white.

Sad thing is people actually believe this crap, as much as they believed BO was going to pay thier electric bill last election.  Crazy.

And if Obama is elected, it will be the end of this country and the beginning of his socialist regime, complete with death panels. . He will take away our guns, and is arming govt. agencies to be able to forcibly take over the American people. He is in bed with the Muslim Brotherhood and will enact Sharia law in this country.

All the above I hear from some Romney supporters. Sad thing is some people believe this stuff also. I would rather we vote based on facts and not fear, particularly stupid fear.

 How sad.

When we were dropping off my daughter's 9 y.o. little friend, she pointed to a Romney sign and yelled "Ew! He's mean!" (I kept quiet.) She informed us that her mommy said if he wins, they won't have any money for food. It broke my heart. My DD reassured her that would not happen and that he is not "mean"....and in a very diplomatic way, said, "neither is Obama".

I almost never talk about politics (except when the kids are out of earshot)...but they're so wise. My kids are awesome! :-)

I agree with you.  I have heard about the "brown shirts" from a family that is stocking arms getting ready for what they think BO is going to do, in their minds.  Where I work we get people from the very rural areas and from a big city so we have a mix.  I am always surprised how people on both side that probably could not tell you what is in the Bill of Rights, much less the three branches of Government, can spew "facts" about what they believe, both sides have their idiots.
