Liberalism, Socialism, Communism: Links in the chains of Slavery!

Our Founding Fathers, being keenly attuned to the goal of personal freedom, accurately analyzed the manner in which freedom was so trampled by the political systems from which they had fled in Europe. Their genius was the recognition that tyranny must be expected from unfettered governmental power. How wise they were, to separate our government into three branches, such that each could keep an eye on the other two.

The Liberals, those who advocate a "nanny government", are not in tune with the American people whose mind-set is oriented toward freedom. As one who has lived in a country with a totalitarian police state, where freedom is not even considered except as part of a lie, (the lie being that freedom means to live under their system) this writer knows some parallels between the totalitarian police state and our American Liberals and/or Socialists.

  1. They both claim that the government is the solution.
  2.

  3. They both assume the people are too stupid to take care of themselves.

  4. They both assume that they, the elite, are somehow superior, and thus, have the right to rule.

  5. They both are afraid of the people; so much so, that they try to eliminate free speech. (The police state does so by forbidding assembly; the U.S. Liberals do so by such devices as "political correctness".)

  6. They both fear an armed citizenry. The totalitarians, since they have the power, simply forbid it, while the American Liberals use all their propaganda machinery to make it appear that the right to bear arms is Neanderthal, and is not connected to the issue of freedom of the citizenry. (Would an emperor want his peasants armed?)

  7. They both spring from the secular humanist philosophy which dictates that freedom is a gift from the state, as opposed to the thinking of our Founding Fathers, who recognized that freedom is God-given, thus the state must be suspected and prevented from taking the people's God given freedom. Genius!

Liberalism is a kissing-cousin to Socialism, as Socialism is to Communism...

Liberalism and liberty are @ odds with each other Kissy. The 2 are not partners in personal freedom and prosperity.

We do not exaggerate when we say that this is the greatest threat to religious freedom in our lifetime. We cannot help but think of the words attributed to German pastor Martin Niemoeller, reflecting on the Nazi terror:

First they came for the Socialists, and I
did not speak out —
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists,
and I did not speak out —
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did
not speak out — Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me — and there was
no one left to speak for me.

"Sounds like a fun party:free people who read books, drink and have sex."

That's the problem with most liberals..ALL they want to do is parrrrrty.

Put down Karma Sutra, the bottle of wine, extract yourselves from the orgi and:

GET A JOB, contribute to society, and stop whining and trying to live off other people's HARD EARNED MONEY/TAXES.

Geez...

Conservatives like to amass money...what do you do with it, stuff it in your mattresses and sleep on it? Nah, you guys party, too; you just don't do it as well as we do it!

Here's the thing; Romney says the stupidest things such as that which he said at the dinner about the 47% but as a Mormon he can't drink so he doesn't even have the grape he imbibes while partying to blame for his tremendously bigoted and insensitive statements!

Actually no I don't party. I pay my mortgage for my home that's valued more for taxes than if I sold it in the real estate market.

I pay FULL RATE TAXES..."claim zero and married but withhold at the single higher rate"

Save for my retirement

Pay my bills, on time every month

Saving for my kids' college tuition, which took a beating (lost money)

Drive to work, NOW paying $4 a gallon for gas.

SUPPORT my 2 children withOUT gov't help.

Pay for my eldest's college tuition..since our gov't run SALLIE MAE wanted to charge my 12.9% intrest on my son's student loan..their HIGHEST RATE. I called 6 banks..and found 1 that offers student loans without wanting a piece of my liver.

THAT'S what I've been doing with my money.

**I'm not against gov't assistance or PA, I'm against abuses of it.**

I agree that was the wrong thing to say. While there are probably 47% that don't pay taxes NOT all of that number believe the government OWES them a lifestyle. But there IS a certain percentage of the 47% that expect the government to support them.

Hell I know 2!

Liberalism isn't on the list but hey, I wouldn't mind if it was!  (See my remark at the end)

Liberalism (from the Latin liberalis)[1] is a political philosophy or worldview founded on the ideas of liberty and equality.[2] Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but generally they support ideas such as free and fair elections, civil rights, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, free trade, and a right to life, liberty, and property.[3][4][5][6][7]

Liberalists would never have let that happen.  In fact, it's because the Americans (Liberalists) finally intervened in WWII that we aren't all writing in German right now!

wink

Tim and Chuck take disrespectful, self-serving license with Niemoeller's ideology of individuals standing up for the civil rights of all people (of any class, race or religion, etc).

EVERY conservative claims to know at least ONE person who is living it up being richly poor.  You never say how you and your more well-to-do friends and your churches rally 'round these people to help them so they aren't forced to rely on the government.  You say you don't need big government to do what you can do but you don't really do it!  You prefer sneering and feeling holier-than-thou.

Romney said something about how Americans help their own and I had a friend who was a Mormon for a hot minute who said they helped her with food and money to pay the bills but they eventually wanted something back from her so she left them.  I can't remember what it is they wanted.

The fact of the matter is that a lot of people don't like poor people, don't want to see them, don't want to help them.  The thing is, if the government wasn't doing its job which as both Romney and Obama said is to protect American citizens, a lot more Americans would be on the streets with their children with tin cups begging for money.  Do you really want to see that as you walk into Macy's to buy a new pair of shoes?
