It was a tongue and cheek. On any given day you'll be called a Libtard if found out to be a liberal.

Quoting WinningWinning:

I lean liberal and am offended by your stereotype frankly.

Many liberals are logical, self controlled, creative, monogamous, well learned on social graces and are moral.

It's mottos like this why others don't take us seriously.

Seriously?

I'm middle/upper middle class, earn a good living, pay a lot lof taxes (thank goodness we have a good accountant), own 2 homes, got one kid in college and another revving up for grad school, and I'm fairly liberal on most issues.

Quoting 143myboys9496:

"Sounds like a fun party:free people who read books, drink and have sex."

That's the problem with most liberals..ALL they want to do is parrrrrty.

Put down Karma Sutra, the bottle of wine, extract yourselves from the orgi and:

GET A JOB, contribute to society, and stop whining and trying to live off other people's HARD EARNED MONEY/TAXES.

Geez...

Liberalism, Socialism, Communism: Links in the chains of Slavery!

Our Founding Fathers, being keenly attuned to the goal of personal freedom, accurately analyzed the manner in which freedom was so trampled by the political systems from which they had fled in Europe. Their genius was the recognition that tyranny must be expected from unfettered governmental power. How wise they were, to separate our government into three branches, such that each could keep an eye on the other two.

The Liberals, those who advocate a "nanny government", are not in tune with the American people whose mind-set is oriented toward freedom. As one who has lived in a country with a totalitarian police state, where freedom is not even considered except as part of a lie, (the lie being that freedom means to live under their system) this writer knows some parallels between the totalitarian police state and our American Liberals and/or Socialists.

  1. They both claim that the government is the solution.

  2.

  3. They both assume the people are too stupid to take care of themselves.

  4. They both assume that they, the elite, are somehow superior, and thus, have the right to rule.

  5. They both are afraid of the people; so much so, that they try to eliminate free speech. (The police state does so by forbidding assembly; the U.S. Liberals do so by such devices as "political correctness".)

  6. They both fear an armed citizenry. The totalitarians, since they have the power, simply forbid it, while the American Liberals use all their propaganda machinery to make it appear that the right to bear arms is Neanderthal, and is not connected to the issue of freedom of the citizenry. (Would an emperor want his peasants armed?)

  7. They both spring from the secular humanist philosophy which dictates that freedom is a gift from the state, as opposed to the thinking of our Founding Fathers, who recognized that freedom is God-given, thus the state must be suspected and prevented from taking the people's God given freedom. Genius!

I've never heard of that word before. My circles of reps don't speak like that.

honestly I doubt I will be called it anyway. I'm very fair, and respectful of others and their party affiliation. Besides I said I lean liberal. I am by no means staunch.

If I by some chance start off being rude and then I am labeled a Libtard personally, then it would be my own fault.

Quoting _Kissy_:

It was a tongue and cheek. But the truth is, it is true. Many liberals do think this way as well as reps about us.On any given day you'll be called a Libtard if found out to be a liberal.

Uh no.

Because I find it depressing when humans can't just take something for what it is.  This was meant to be more kitschy than real, more cute than partisan.  I'm sorry if some of you were unable to comprehend that.

Thank you for this!

I also have never read the Kama Sutra, though it does sound intriguing.  I've never participated in an orgy.  I am educated and have never used public assistance nor do I think the government owes me things, we're an upper middle class family  and yet, I'm still a liberal.  However, I  agree with the crazy person below that I do like my wine.  I refuse to put down my wine and she can't make me :-)

Kissy tends to post topics which are dramatic and controversial. I responded accordingly. Pls don't flatter yourself, Kmary. I didn't do it for you. I prefer to listen to those who have experienced the repercussions of these philosophies, friends of mine who lived under Socialism & Communism, not someone who blindly defends links to Marxism and suppression. No humor concerning a very serious topic!
