No, she said, "Oh, my God, this (situation, discussion) is so funny (odd) but it's cool (I don't want to hurt your feelings)."  Interesting take... not the way I read it.  I read it more that she thought it was a neat idea.  I like to read things straight as they say it.

Ms. Caballero is young and obviously received cursory training.  She said, "I don't know what to tell you because that's not my expertise."  I don't believe she was expert in anything, especailly not confrontation because old lady that I am, experienced, doncha know, I'd have told that piece of crap where to get off.  It's no accident they chose someone young and alone with no one to intervene and interrupt and give her proper advice on how to handle that situation. The people that run the Romney place in my city are young.  There are 3 of them and they all look college age.  There was more than just the one lady in texas confrontation on that clip.

She deserves a reprimand and better training but she didn't deserve to be fired for being dope who got duped. yes she did.  She didn't do anything to discourage illegal activities.

I do have a fit when people walk by or stop and watch people fighting.  I break up the fights.  That's not the same thing.  She was a victim; she got beaten up but in a high-tech way with edited video. I know it's not the same thing but she was guilty by association.  She "stood by" and did nothing to discourage the lady from breaking the law.

I worked the polls for ten years.  When a person moves from one state to another they can vote absentee in the state where they previously resided for a certain amount of time.  It's like how you can move from one state to another and use your old driver's license for a certain period of time.  It's like a cooling off period because sometimes people relocate, regret it and move back "home."  Or, there's so many things involved in an interstate move people are given a chance to "settle." and?  you are not suppose to pick and choose where you vote.  You are supposed to vote from where you reside... and certainly not twice.  She encouraged her to vote from a state she NO longer lived in.

Some people are too polite for their own goods.  Some people are too young for their own goods.  "Youth is wasted on the young" goes one of my favorite lines from a movie. ;)  That girl was the ultimate patsy. with little moral conscience in this area, apparently... I might ad

IF all this is real.  I tried to use that url but it didn't work; I got rerouted to a similar site.  For all any of us knows, she could also be in on this ruse and this place never existed.  People have done worse to try to make a politician look bad.  Because when all is said and done, the President had nothing to do with this but you guys want to blame him for an ignorant (not stupid, ignorant) young girl doing a job she wasn't trained to do by people probably not trained in hiring and training employees! No.. I'm not blaming the president for the shading dealings of his workers.  He certainly didn't send out a memo advocating this personally.  Just like Romney had nothing to do with the vigilante work of the gal who got rid of democrat registrations in the news recently as well.

Her employers are using her as a scapegoat thrown to the wolves to appease you. Frankly.. they really didn't have any choice.. and also.. it was temporary work for her anyway.  She'd be out looking for work after the election was over anyway.  I feel sorry for her in a way.. but not completely because we all have a moral compass inside us and she chose to ignore hers.

Quoting Jambo4:

did she get fired?  Good.  She said she thought the idea of double voting was "cool".  She sat back a LET them break the law. (or say they were going to) and didn't once say, "that's illegal and you shouldn't do it"  You have a fit if she was standing and watching somebody beat the crap out of somebody else.  You say it was her duty to say or do something about that or get involved.

She wasn't concern that it was illegal.. like you said, she didn't want her to get in trouble.. not that what she was doing was wrong.

Now.. I need to check again.. she was in Texas so she should NOT have been advising the fake Texan residence to vote in Florida if she was not residing in Florida.  That alone was a blatant manipulation and voter fraud.

Quoting JonJon:

Those deceptive iceholes got that poor woman fired!

She didn't get fired for helping anyone double vote, she got fired for saying, you're silly, but funny!  She got fired for being good natured which I'm guessing is why she got the job!

She was too polite for her own good but she DID tell that person she didn't want her to get in trouble.  She told her to vote FL and offered to help get her an absentee ballot form.  Without calling that b-word a cheat, she tried to get her to do the right thing!  She even said, "You're not going to do what I think you're going to do, are you? based on how the woman talked the first time she came into her office.  That b-word couldn't get her to say anything wrong the first time so she came back to get some more video they could snip and clip but what got Ms. Caballero fired was said during the first visit.

Ms. Caballero better sue for wrongful termination.

You have yet to answer my questions.

I can only assume you are unable, what ever the reasons may be.

I am now uninterested, at any rate, in responses you may have at this point.

The core of who I am, what I do, and what I believe, have very little to do with my CafeMom screen name and avatar picture.

Off to watch the VP debates.

Quoting JonJon:

I don't know anyone who's changed her stance here on CM and whether she changed her stance based on lies.

I'm only talking about the people I've seen lie during these debates on CM.

Quoting WinningWinning:

I think you may have me confused with someone else.

I never said who I was voting for, or if I was voting at all. I also never mentioned my family.

I've only stated that I "lean" liberal.

I was led to pose my question regarding the most recent polls as of this morning, by your statement...

"We don't have to lie; Romney shoots himself in the foot one or more times a week.  He's campaign-stumping on a bloody stump"

...and wondered if those who have recently changed their stance were never really Obama supporters in the first place or were some staunch Obama but now seem to be believing Romney's so-called "lies".

Thank you for explaining to me in detail what your personal opinion is on polls and such, but I asked what your opinion of those who have supposedly switched over in the eleventh hour to supporting Romney was.

Or did your basically indirectly answer me already by saying since you don't believe the polls are accurate or unbiased, then there's no way the polls can be accurate?

My news source is Good Morning American. I'm not certain which pollster they sourced. But I've found them in the past to be very creditable and unbiased with their accuracy in reporting.

Quoting JonJon:

I have no idea how you got to polls and whether or not people are believing lies (posited by whom?) but as you seem to be placing some value on my opinion (?) I'll bite:

I usually look at the electoral maps to give me an indication of who is doing better (I'm a visual learner); all of them showing the president with 20 or more electoral votes over Romney.  I have read that Romney gained momentum after the debate but not much, and it's slowed to a stop I choose to believe what I've read.  As it's in the Presiden'ts favor and has been for months, I choose to believe it.  I've seen on one of my favorite electoral college maps that one pink state, North Carolina, has now become true red.  That could be a mistake or it could change after the last debate.  There's still a few weeks before the election.

I don't care for polls because the outcome depends on who's asking the questions, who wrote the questions and how those questions are worded, who's asked the questions and how diverse the population of the questioned, how many are asked the questions and how the information is handled once it's been accrued.  There may be a truly objective, competent and close-to-accurate polling agency out there but I don't know which it is.  To which pollster are you most drawn?

I saw where you wrote you and your family are liberal Independents (except one) and that you are voting for Obama but this is not the first time it's occurred to me you sound as if YOU were never really an Obama supporter in the first place; no?

Quoting WinningWinning:

In your opinion then, are the key battle grounds in which Romney is gaining momentum and even passing Obama in, are those polls lying OR are the people that had supposedly made up their minds for Obama,  now saying they are going to vote for Romney, believing lies?

If so, then if someone is dumb enough to believe lies and be a turn-coat in the eleventh hour, so to speak, chances are they were never really Obama supporters in the first place, no?

Quoting JonJon:

I am saying that I am not as active as some of you are.  I am very selective about which posts I open and to which posts I reply.  I don't necessarily read all the replies, especially in large posts.  I don't see everything.

Of what I've seen, I haven't caught an Obamamama in a lie.  No one gets a pass.  If I caught an Obamamama in a deliberate lie against Romney/Ryan, I'd correct her.

We don't have to lie; Romney shoots himself in the foot one or more times a week.  He's campaign-stumping on a bloody stump.

Thanks for asking.

Quoting Billiejeens:

Let me make certain that I understand you.

Of all the pro-Obama CMs I can't recall a lie - is your statement.

Are you affirming that there have been lies, but you simply can't recall them? or, are you stating that you do not believe that there have been any, I realize that you further state that you would call them on them, but I want to be sure.

Quoting JonJon:

The word indicated does not exonerate you.  I was talking specifically about CMs who are proponents of the President.  YOU insinuate I wrote about ALL people who advocate for the President.

I don't know how ALL people think outside of CM but of the replies I've seen of pro-Obama CMs I can't recall a lie.  I would call them on those lies if I did.  No one who lies about anyone gets a pass from me if I know it to be lies.  I've disproved a mistaken statement made about Romney.  I can't remember what it was but I believe it had something to do with a mistaken belief about Mormons.

Was it that Mormons aren't Christian?

You missed where she indicated that the left never lies, occasionally they might get something wrong, but they are all wonderfully decent humanitarians, who just want everyone to have health care.

Yes I must have..maybe I was blinded by hate and hostility. My mother says the same thing, that dems (specifically Ted Kennedy) wanted healthcare for ALL. Really? Does everyone know what Teddy did when he needed brain surgery?

He HAND PICKED 5 of the best of the best surgeons from around the country. I can't remember now, but as I recall, at least 1 came from MASS, 1 from The Mayo Clinic and 1 from Johns Hopkins. I can't recall the other 2, to have surgery in VA. At least 4 of those 5 HAND PICKED surgeons, didn't have OR priviliges in VA, and had to have them "granted" just for Teddy's surgery.

When has ANY American citizen been able to do that?? NEVER. Around this same time, my own mother was having trouble walking, her PCP thought she might have a pseudoaneurysm in her upper thigh/groin. Because she was too young for medicare, and couldn't afford private insurance she was going to have to pay out of pocket for an MRI.

Considering the hand selection of neurosurgeons and anesthesiologists that Teddy was able to do with his congressional exclusive, deluxe insurance plan..IMHO, he doesn't give a DAMN that my mother (or anyone else) doesn't have access to proper health insurance.

Because if he did, he'd have been a staunch supporter of either of 2 things: 1. making the congressional health insurance plan available to ALL Americans. OR 2. repealing it, free up boat loads of money and use the same health plan as the rest of American..if it's as good as they claim why don't they use it?

Those deceptive iceholes got that poor woman fired! And rightly so, if that is true.

She didn't get fired for helping anyone double vote, Ms. Caballero did help someone, that freely admitted she intended to commit voter fraud.  She made a copy of the Florida mail in ballot, and gave it to her, for that purpose, even after the visitor told her of her intention.  she got fired for saying, you're silly, but funny!  She got fired for being good natured which I'm guessing is why she got the job!  She most likely got fired, for being silly and giggly and not using the wise judgemnt for the position she held.  She was an employee of the DNC, therefore represented the DNC, from where she sat.

She was too polite for her own good but she DID tell that person she didn't want her to get in trouble. True, but not for the purpose of stopping voter fraud.  She was just concerned the visitor might get caught.  She told her to vote FL and offered to help get her an absentee ballot form.  Without calling that b-word a cheat, she tried to get her to do the right thing!  She even said, "You're not going to do what I think you're going to do, are you? and then her next words were...Okaaay. based on how the woman talked the first time she came into her office.  That b-word couldn't get her to say anything wrong the first time so she came back to get some more video they could snip and clip but what got Ms. Caballero fired was said during the first visit. Ms. Caballero new exactly what the visitor intended and went along with the idea.  The visitor stated that she didn't want Romney to win and that she wanted her voice heard...twice.  Ms. Caballero, very much understood what was happening, no doubt about it.

Ms. Caballero better sue for wrongful termination. To hold the position of Regional Field Director, she had to have some knowledge of her position.   She should know how to handle herself in a professional and lawful manner.

Actually, I don't think that I am very good at debating. I believe myself to be very well informed, but have very little patience for nonsense, so I get easily bored with debating someone who clearly has less information.

Quoting JonJon:

It doesn't matter whether anyone else believes I'm a good debater.  It only matters that I believe it or I wouldn't be here debating.  No matter how hard one person tells another she or he is good at some sort of performance or discipline, if that person doesn't believe it of himself or herself, he or she won't be convinced and won't excel in that area.

Everyone here believes she's  or he's) good at expressing her(him) self and making her(his) cases or no one would be here.

Perhaps you're the exception but I won't assume; I'll ask.

Do you consider yourself a good debater?

Quoting Billiejeens:

Does someone other than you think that you are a good debater?

Most of what I have witnessed is that you are just long winded, and passionately married to the false idea that Obama is defensible.  Of course that is just my opinion.

Quoting JonJon:

Cha!  It was good advice that she heed her self-advice!  I'm an excellent debater!  YOU know that!  :)  Here, I'll c&p that little clue again:

It's not the politicians that bother me, they can't be all things to all people and they can't help if people hear what they want to hear and then complain that what they believe they heard didn't come to fruition.  Also, there's politicians who naively believe they can be the ones to bring change to an old boys' network that doesn't want any disturbances to the status quo.  We basically have to hope the old boys hurry up and die so the new boys can make some new things happen.

What concerns me are the people who come here to be so disruptive and irrational.  I consider CM a little slice of America which means there are exponentially more people in the country who think exactly as we do.  Fortunately, most of us are fair and as honest as we can manage to be and keep our personal lives private but the anger and hostility I've seen here is scarey when I realize there are so many more like you.

There are many more like those of us who believe in fair play but still...it only takes one angry, hate-filled man to get through the President's security system...he lives with what we know based on the hostility in some of your replies, cubed.  There are people who believe as some of you believe who have access to military-grade weapons and explosives.

Scary.

Right, like republicans are the ONLY party that spew lies. And Romney is the first politician to flex his views.

As far as I'm concerned politicians are all liars. Show me one that's actually done what they promised to do..

Well, we know at least one person agrees you are informed and impatient as winwin "liked" your reply but I have a feeling she'd have liked the reply if a wombat had written it as she has an ax to grind with me so we don't really know who else thinks you're "very well informed."  Now, don't get upset with me for writing that, it's a good thing for you because all my detractors will now be rushing to "like" that reply of yours and winwin will have company and won't be all alone.

You also said I'm long-winded.  Pair that statement with your saying you're impatient, I have to conclude you are young and/or unpracticed at concentrating instead of letting your mind wander.  That's most likely the reason you stink at true debate.

You also said the you believe I defend the indefensable President.  No such thing.  I support a stellar individual and a stalwart man dedicated to doing the post possible job for the American people.  He's done nothing that needs defending.  Oh!  You must be referring to how I successfully I reveal the lies about and false accusations against him as my defending him.  Okay; on that I agree with you.

Oh, my mistake.  So in addition to considering yourself not a very good debater, you also consider yourself not very intelligent.  I understand the difference between being informed and being intelligent.  Gotcha.  :)

When I was considering becoming an engineer, I had an instructor who said we students didn't have to know everything, we just had to know how access information to everything.

I just wanted you to know I wasn't trying to take an unfair dig at someone who's indicates she believes herself not very intelligent.  It's good you believe you have more information than I.  Though you and I actually have the same access to all the information in the world, I approve of your finally putting aside the pretense there's something wrong with saying good things about oneself and showing self-confidence on a public forum.  ;)
