Really, what happened to being thankful for the thought?

That's not PC anymore? ugh

Here's a funny (in a sad way) true story. I was out shopping with the kids last weekend and the clerk ringing us up had blue hair, a couple of tats, lip ring, etc....

She sneezed, so in a knee-jerk reaction, I said "God Bless You". She ignored me. So my son chimes in, "Bless You!"  At which she just glared at him.

What a creep.

How hard is it so "Thank You"? Sheesh~

I don't mean to laugh, but that is funny.  Good/Bad is correct

so siilly.

Quoting PTmomma3:

For me, as a physical therapist, the worst is that it's now not acceptable to say your bad leg or good leg. Instead we have to say involved leg and uninvolved leg.

What if the politically correct thing is offensive???

So like Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.  If you say "Happy Holidays" my mom, she will correct you like no ones business.  If she knows you are Jewish, you get Happy Hanukkah from her.

She is not the only one.  I lady in front of me got mad at the cashier at Safeway because she said Happy Holidays, not Merry Christmas.

You know, we Californians are too uptight................................LOL

Quoting Pema_Jampa:

Doesn't bother me. Rather be politically correct than being offensive.

You have got to be kidding!  And the reason for that - besides idiocy - would be?

I actually does sound a little more "professionally accurate" if you know what I mean.

But really, one has to talk so the patient understands

My pet peeve is coming up with 'politically correct words' and thinking they are 'correct', rather than using words that are true and honest.

Happy Holidays covers everything. Safer to say and not offend then guessing some one's faith or lack there of.

People can get mad all they want. Happy Holidays is not offensive. The ones that personally bother me are the racial / homophobic ones.

It doesn't hurt anyone just to be mindful with our words when speaking to others.

I think people who give paid employees a hard time for using the greeting their employer prefers, are assholes. Like a cashier at Safeway doesn't deal with enough BS, that lady had to be a jerk for no good reason.

I don't understand why Happy Holidays is offensive to anyone.

I agree.

PT- How about affected vs unaffected?

PCness does not bother me- I am not forever looking for something to PO'd about- do not walk around with a chip on my shoulder.
