Not “Racist” To Disagree With Obama

Actress Angie Harmon has caused liberals to whine by standing up her politically-correct peers in Hollywood and declaring that it is not “racist” to disagree with the policies of Barack Obama.

“Here’s my problem with this, I’m just going to come out and say it,” Harmon told reporters at a recent event. “If I have anything to say against Obama it’s not because I’m a racist, it’s because I don’t like what he’s doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you’re called a racist.”

“But it has nothing to do with it, I don’t care what color he is. I’m just not crazy about what he’s doing and I heard all about this, and he’s gonna do that and change and change, so okay … I’m still dressing for a recession over here buddy and we’ve got unemployment at an all-time high and that was his number one thing and that’s the thing I really don’t appreciate. If I’m going to disagree with my President, that doesn’t make me a racist. If I was to disagree with Bush or Clinton, that doesn’t make me racist. It has nothing to do with it, it is ridiculous.”

No - she was a politican who exploited racism for political gain.  Hardly the first, certainly not the last.

"Poorch monkey"? First, what is that? Second, where is your evidence Michelle Bachman said that? Doesn't sound like anything she would say. And I can't find anything on line about that.

How can racism have gotten worse in the US? I don't deny it occurs, but it is so much better than 50 and 200 years ago. I think you are confusing disagreement with Obama to racism - as this post points out.

Secret Service reports state that numbers of threats against Obama are consistent with the number against GWB, Clinton Bush Sr, etc.   Hell, even Stacey Dash received a large number of death threats for just saying that she, a Democrat who happens to be black, was going to vote for Romney. I think you are just more sensitive about it, because he is your guy, and because you expect that Obama being black will bring more death threats. And maybe pundits are telling you that. But it's not consistent with the facts compiled by the Secret Service.

The only reason people point out that Obama is half black and half white - as even Morgan Freemen points out - is because he largely ignores the white part. He pretty much only emphasizes the black part, despite the fact that his father abandoned him when he was two, and his mom and grandparents - who happened to be white - raised him. And he was not there when his mom died, even though he knew she was dying. So pointing out facts of his heritage is racist?

Are you saying people can't criticize Obama's actions and policies because he is black? Seems to me these people are judging him as any man, but you are judging him by the color of his skin. So who really is racist here?

It is true that Obama promotes socialist principles. I would actually more socialist democratic. You have to look at the ideology, apart from Obama's skin color. That's why people say that. If it meets the definition, it is an accurate assessment.

People compare Obama with Hitler because he has said repeatedly he does not want to negotiate with Congressional Republicans, that if Congress does not do what he wants, that he will pass Executive Orders, and that his way will prevail. That means he thinks the Executive branch is more important and powerful than the other two branches of government - which is against the Founders' creation of the US government, and thus unconstitutional. Pretty much what Hitler did. Also because of his desire to severely restrict gun ownership - as Hitler did in Germany - which left people vulnerable and sitting ducks. 

That's the point.

If people analyze Obama's policies and methodology, and describe what they see with words whose definition they meet - as people would do with any political figure who is white - that is called analysis and commentary, not racism. Are you saying that Obama should be immune from criticism, and that very thing is racism? I invite you back to the central argument of this post. People have the right to an opinion, to hold Obama to the same standards as any other elected leader - irrespective of the color of his skin. It would be racist not to do so.

There is a reason why I say racism has gotten worse ever since he got elected ( hell ever since he ran for election) is because now people show their true colors. Look at michele backman calling him a poorch monkey and then acting like thats not what she meant, please.Since when are you able to get away with shit like that on tv? And then have so many defend her smh. And people talk about well he's half white too so we can't be racist . People don't care if he's half white all they see is his skin and think the black guy is destroying America they can't do anything thing right America should of voted for the white guy. Smh 

Anyway back on topic there a difference between saying I don't like Obama because of aca and I don't like him because he's a nazi socialist anti Christ Muslim from Kenya who only goal is to bring America to its knees and put all the white people in camps.
