Tyranny response team

America has the most powerful military on the planet, no one can argue about that. And we're told that if the government becomes tyrannical, those 300 million guns in private hands are enough to beat that military and overthrow an evil regime.
Then why do we need a military? Since our civilians are capable of beating any military force on the planet - even our own - why not save almost a trillion dollars a year? If the need arises, no doubt those patriots are willing to volunteer to fight and die to defend this nation - that's what they're constantly telling us. Let's take them at their word.

Good grief ~ there is more of the Constitution some of you haven't read or don't understand?!?

The Constitution states that a military to guard and defend the country is required, is to be paid for and funded, and maintainted.

It also says that the individual citizens have a right to be armed to prevent that same government from taking advantage of the citizens in any tyrannical manner (through taxes, regulations, laws, etc.).

There are far more armed Americans than military personnel (who btw, take an oath to the Constitution, as well as not to obey unlawful orders). Most of those armed Americans are very much aware of the fact that 9% of Britains colonists took up arms against the largest military in the world (while about 50% of that same colonial population aided that military and the rest just sat it our and hoped no one would notice them) and won. WON. That 9% is the reason we have our Constitution and call the US home. They are the reason we elect a president and have representatives instead of a monarch. Those private gun owners today FAR outnumber the 9% of colonists and the military in it's entirety. A good many of them just went out and bought even more guns and ammo because the government is threatening them and the Constitution. If push comes to shove, more than half of that military would stand with the people. The government knows this ~ and it's WHY the government is pushing for gun control.

The military is required to protect the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic so pounding the asses of people who are claiming they will overthrow the government is not against the constitution. You might want to read up on that.

Neither is overthrowing a government gone berserk and power crazy ~ you might want to read up on that (that would be the 'domestic' part).

The Constitution is our final authority on law, and we have a bunch of congresscritters, various individual elected officials in different states, a bunch of pansy arsed citizens, and a president who seem to have all forgotten that (actually, they just don't care ... for their own individual reasons).

I've often wondered that too. Here I am with my assault rifle, and buddies with assault rifles ready for revolution and a drone with a hellfire missile flies overhead and blows us all up. Yes, sure am glad I had that assault rifle for protection. Lol!

it's impossible to argue with irrational crazy talk. Overthrowing the government is not ok. Your assault rifle won't protect you. What freaks me out is that ya'll think you're in the right on this one. seriously - you lost the election get on with it, there will be more election in 2014 and 2016 and let me tell you if your camp doesn't start sounding a tad more sane those elections won't go your way either.

Actually, it's a very American thing to do lol ~ and whether or not you can wrap your head around it, there are a lot of Americans who flat out do not want America to end up as another monument to socialist failure. We've seen the others and we think America is worth more than that.

It has nothing to do with 'losing the election' ~ and everything to do with not only the direction the country is headed, but the elected officials (for decades now, not just the current bunch) who state openly that they don't care about the Constitution, the ever growing welfare rolls, the debt that just keeps growing, etc.

You don't seem to get that there are people who have been 'freaked' out for years now about what others are doing/not doing, what they want, etc. There are people who are 'freaked out' by the crime levels and people who just keep patting criminals on their shoulders and telling them it's ok ~ along with lawyers who actually work to make victims the scapegoats. There are people who are 'freaked out' because illegals have more rights than citizens, and citizens who are stupid enough to say that's great.

The fact that you're all of a sudden freaked out only tells me that you haven't been paying attention for a long time now. I'm glad you are finally waking up .... although I don't have a lot of sympathy for the rude awakening.

Thanks for the laugh. That was hysterical. I know a ton of gun owners who were in the military at some point. I'd venture to guess that people who are afraid of guns wouldn't be caught dead volunteering for the military.

Most of the crazy ass gun nuts I know were too chicken shit to join the military. They had "better things to do."
