Bobby Jindal: Republicans Thinking About 2016 Need Heads 'Examined'

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) brushed off speculation about the 2016 presidential race on Monday, saying that any Republican already considering a bid needs to get his or her "head examined."

"Anybody on the Republican side even thinking or talking about running for president in 2016, I've said, needs to get their head examined," Jindal said during an appearance on "Fox and Friends." "And the reason I say that is, we've lost two presidential elections in a row, we need to be winning the debate of ideas-- then we'll win elections."

Jindal continued, "We're not winning the conversation, we're not presenting our ideas, we're not in that debate as well as we should be."

Jindal, whom many consider to be a likely contender in the next Republican presidential primary, said that it's too early to start 2016 chatter.

"The country doesn't need four years of non-stop presidential -- we just inaugurated a new term of this president's second term," Jindal said.

Instead, Jindal believes the party should focus on examining where the party went wrong during the 2012 cycle.

"We as Republicans need to reject identity politics, reject this divisiveness, and instead appeal to what really unites us as Americans," Jindal said.

In the months since the election, Jindal has emerged as a vocal critic of his own party.

"We've got to stop being the stupid party," Jindal said during a speech at the Republican National Committee's winter meeting last month. "It's time for a new Republican Party that talks like adults... We had a number of Republicans damage the brand this year with offensive and bizarre comments. I'm here to say we've had enough of that."

I don't care how you spin the numbers, illegals are a problem ... and democrats love them because they fall under 'undocumented voters' ~ with the full support of any family members they have. This is an issue, and it's one that is helping to bankrupt the country. It's one that any candidate had better be paying attention to for upcoming elections. The country is broke now, and will be so far in the red in 4 years (figuring out how far will be more and more of an issue unless/until our flipping potus and congresscritters get off their collective butts and actually sign a budget!). At the current rate of spending it's entirely likely that by 2016 a whole lot of NOT brown skinned tax payers will be (or will already have) ex-patted (or just moved and resigned their citizenship) and fled the sinking ship. Sooner or later, even democrats are going to have to pay the piper on this, and a lot of other issues. Given how irresponsibly most congresscritters have blown money, I think the lifers should have 90% of their personal wealth and assets applied directly to the national debt before they are allowed to spend even one more penny on anything except the military an our infrastructure. I also think that anyone who isn't mostly concerned with the budget and cutting unnecessary expenditures (including all of the waste on illegals ... whatever color they happen to be) is not going to be getting my vote (and the same will happen for a lot of other tax payers ~ excluding those who 'think' they pay taxes but get back more from EIC than they ever paid in ... that's just more welfare).

For the record, SC has a low population of illegals compared to some other states ... and that population is breaking the budget. It's no wonder that CA and some other states are doggie paddling frantically. TX only handles it because they have run a fiscally sound budget all along ~ hopefully they can keep it up regardless of anything Obama tries to shove down their throats.

It is very important - essential - to accurately quote someone's statement accurately. Otherwise, it is the same thing as editing a father's presentation in a public meeting about handgun control. Or editing the 911 call audio of George Zimmerman responding to the operator's question about what race the suspect is. Or incorrectly describing the audio of a Romney-Ryan rally. Or misstating your own statement if at any point you are questioned by the police.

Or any other situation. The media needs to be honest.
