GEORGE ZIMMERMAN - WHAT THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA DIDN'T TELL US

Posted by   + Show Post

Media coverage of the George Zimmerman shooting of Trayvon Martin has been skewed for months by wild charges of racism against George. NBC News infamously edited tape of Zimmerman to make it appear that he thought Martin was suspicious due to his race. They also initially reported incorrectly that Zimmerman is white, when he actually is Hispanic. CNN falsely reported that Zimmerman had used a racial slur during his 911 call. And most news organizations stated that George had shot Martin without provocation, rather than out of self defense after being beaten by Martin, as he told police. George's injuries that night - including two black eyes, a broken nose, and a large bloody gash to the back of his head - appear to corroborate his account to police - but have not been reported by a number of media outlets.

The racism thematic stretched all the way to the White House, with President Obama suggesting that Zimmerman was acting out of racism, since as Obama put it, “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”

The truth is far different. Not only is Zimmerman not a racist – he has a black business partner, has Afro-Peruvian roots, and helps out underprivileged black kids in his neighborhood – he also was a supporter of the very president who would later slander him by innuendo. As Robert, George’s brother, told me, George is “a registered Democrat. He registered as a Hispanic. He kind of did some internal family campaigning for Obama.”

George supported Obama in 2008, Robert explained, because “He was like many young people who thought that the president’s club had been a club of white men since our founding, and that there really wasn’t a good reason for that, except that the right man for the job who happened to be black had not come along, and that electing a man who happened to be biracial or multiracial like we were, would reflect not just a situation that we found ourselves in ethnically in our family, but the reality of where America had come, which is that we are a melting pot of cultures and we are a diverse society.

“Ironically,” Robert added, “the man who he campaigned for within his family was the same man indicting him in a way from the Rose Garden just a few years later.”

You don't understand the difference between race and ethnic group. Zimmerman's race is Caucasian (aka white) his ethnic group is Hispanic. Hispanic is not a race.

Again, voting for Obama is irrelevant. Voting for Obama doesn't magically make someone incapable of committing murder. It is ludicrous to try to make any connect between voting for Obama=Zimmerman being innocent and goes to show just how desperate and delusional his supporters are.

I've listened to the 911 tape.

I'm not anxious to convict an innocent man because George Zimmerman is not innocent.

ETA: I also find the claim hilarious that he didn't say coons, but must have said cold or punks when the word "cold" and the word "punks" sound nothing alike. Yet you take the beginning of cold and then ending of punks and get something that sounds very similar to "coons". Instead of trying to desperately find a word begin with the first syllable, or ends with last syllable heard on the tape, why don't you put the 2 syllables together that are heard?

Quoting SallyMJ:

OK. Let's walk through this: Obama self identifies as black - even though he is half white.  I self-identify with my Hungarian ethnicity, even though it's only half. A security guard at work, who happens to be very dark black, calls himself a Latin man, being from the Dominican Republic. Zimmerman self identifies as Hispanic. He has the standing to do so, not CNN, and not you.

It is relevant that GZ supported Obama, because an avowed racist wouldn't have supported a black candidate.

Nope, no racist slur. That was the media lying again. This was corrected last year in the media. The media had previously said GZ said, "F***ing coons!" But he didn't -  It was either, "[It's] f***ing cold, " or "F***ing punks!"

Why are so anxious to convict an innocent man? In any event, it is the State's burden of proof for Murder 2, beyond a reasonable doubt. The defense doesn't have to prove anything. And it's looking tough for the State to meet the definition.

BTW, two bad days for the prosecution in the GZ trial. For the second day, the testimony from the State witnesses seem to better support the defense than the prosecution. It's as if the court clerk pulled a list of witnesses from the defense and gave them to the State.

"They also initially reported incorrectly that Zimmerman is white, when he actually is Hispanic" ...... He is white. Once can be both white and hispanic.

"George supported Obama in 2008"...... Irrelevent

"CNN falsely reported that Zimmerman had used a racial slur during his 911 call."....The slur can be heard on the recording.

Oh and one nice little tidbit left out of the media reports. Zimmerman was not a part of any official neighborhood watch. He was "self appointed".

An innocent man is being tried for murder.

And the media bias is horrendous.

Yes, maybe an obsession - a righteous indignation.

Thanks for your response, dear. :)

Quoting Stephanie329:

You're turning into an obsessive nut, "dear".

Quoting SallyMJ:

Read the article, dear, before you comment on it. Otherwise you look kind of ignorant. Or at least unable to comprehend and retain information you read.

I don't think you are, but you're making it look that way.  :(

Quoting LIMom1105:

So? Even if he did support Obama, does that exonerate him somehow?

Rhetorical, yes?

EXACTLY! Of course, the media never told anyone this. And when it did come out ... it's disregarded or called lies.
