Media neglect to report CNN, MSNBC, CBS affiliate, first to air rape victim's name - but condemn Fox only

The raw news story that all the networks were given included the victim's name - because one of the defendants had mentioned it in his statement. This is NOT standard policy - Usually the name of the victim is redacted.

The unfortunate, unintentional error by the THREE networks and the CBS affililate in question was in not omitting the name of the victim while reading the statement, and their networks not bleeping it out.

So tell the whole story. Blame ALL THREE networks AND the Steubenville CBS affiliate, if you are going to blame one. The three liberal networks comprise 75% of the offenders - or you are intentionally showing your left-wing colors.

UPDATE: "CNN, MSNBC, and a CBS local affiliate (from Steubenville, no less!)  all also took part in airing the rape victim's name. And they did it before Fox ever did."

UPDATE: MSNBC and CNN also ran the clip with the girl’s name, on Sunday. Those networks did not immediately return requests for comment.

UPDATE: Huffington Post quickly updated their headline after realizing CNN and MSNBC committed the same error a day earlier.

UPDATE: ThinkProgress updated their piece with a blurb about the error by CNN and MSNBC.

UPDATE: RawStory updated their post with a note about CNN and MSNBC’s coverage at the bottom. No change to headline was made.

A correction to the post that castigated Fox alone.

They should be castigated. But not alone.

Castigate CNN, MSNBC, and the CBS affiliate in Steubenville (yes, the hometown network).

To be fair.

Three liberal networks = 75% of the offenders

One conservative network = 25%

Ironic. Another example of liberal media bias.

Which means it's actually the MSM who reports faux news.

Fox News is the only outright conservative news station.  The left wing media does everything they can to make it seem like it isn't real news, so this is not surprising at all.

Even though FNC leans right - it has such a mix of every political ideology, to present different viewpoints:

For hosts, analysts, contributors, guests, etc.:

Mostly conservative, a good number of liberals, some libertarians, and independents.

No other network today even comes close.

I think that is so cool. :)

only fox was condemned for the handling of this case?

my understanding is that her name is already public, in the transcrips or some other official trial documentation.

ALL the media were reprehsnible with thier handwringing over the fates of the rapists.

did they LIE about the girls name?    it might be  feckless and disrespctful, but that doesn't make it "faux"

what would this have to do with making fox seem like they are not real news?
