Obama’s Cancellation “Fix” Violates Law for a Short-Term Public Relations Move

Our Dictator in Chief thinks he can just do whatever he likes.
Check it out:

President Obama has told Obamacare’s critics that the law is “settled” and “here to stay.” But today he is saying he’ll violate the law to put a Band-Aid on it for another year. That’s in addition to the one-year delay in the employer mandate and numerous other “fixes” and delays.

The President is announcing his “fix” to the problem of millions of cancelled policies: According to press reports, the President’s “plan would allow people to keep their plans into 2014,” by allowing the sale of insurance plans that don’t meet the law’s new requirements.

There’s one problem—the President’s promise that his new “plan” can allow people to keep their plans is just as flawed and false as his original “like your plan/keep it” pledge. The law itself is clear: Obamacare’s new benefit mandates—the requirement to cover all individuals with pre-existing conditions, the new “essential benefits,” and mandates increasing the percentage of health costs insurance plans must cover—all take effect on January 1, 2014.

I'm listening to him now and he is hurting ears. Yes, something needs to be done but him compounding illegal acts upon the colossal nightmare is not the way.

In his speech he said 40 million people don't have health insurance. 3 years ago when fighting for ACA he said 30 million people don't have health insurance. Guess his plan did more to make sure people lost insurance.

He's putting the onus back on insurance companies to fix a problem he created.

What's going to happen in the fall of 2014 when the employer mandate kicks in....millions more will lose their health insurance...

He has proven that an act is only illegal if someone stops you for it.

That shield is all powerful it seems.

So he snapped his fingers and all the plans that were "substandard plans" this morning are now okay plans?

Why does he hate good plans?

He doesn't think they are good. He stressed that if people thought they had a good an, they probably haven't been sick. Those damn lying cancer patients we have heard about!!

'Fairy Tale' Continues as Obama Proposes Extralegal Obamacare Fix

Earlier this week, former President Bill Clinton advised President Obama to "honor the commitment" he made and to allow Americans to keep their health care plans, if they like them. That was a central promise Obama made when he sold Obamacare, but one that turned out not to be true when Obamacare began to be implemented last month.

"So I personally believe, even if it takes a change to the law, the president should honor the commitment the federal government made to those people and let them keep what they got," Clinton in an interview released Tuesday.

Now President Obama is taking Clinton's advice and trying to honor that commitment. In remarks today at the White House today, Obama said, "I completely get how upsetting this can be" lose insurance plans that I promised Americans would be able to keep. "To those Americans, I hear you loud and clear."

But there's a catch with president's proposed solution. The president is not proposing that the law be changed to allow all health insurance plans grandfathered into Obamacare's eligibility requirements.

No, instead the White House is saying that it will use "enforcement discretion" to allow illegal health insurance plans to be able to still be sold. That is, the Obama administration will not enforce the penalty on individuals for not having eligible health insurance plans and they'll allow the insurance companies to still sell so-called bad plans -- plans they technically can't sell under Obamacare.

All this did was provide cover for him and his administration.  He just moved the burden onto the insurance companies and the individual states insurance commissioners.  Why would an insurance company reverse course now, after all the work of rewriting the policies to meet the standards of the law?  Especially if it's only allowed through 2014.

If this is how they handled the management of the website project, it's no wonder it went live completely broken.

These things are far too complicated to just change direction at the last minute, or in the middle, and think things are just going to work.

It bears repeating - this is what we get when we appoint someone to do a job that has no job experience.

He is so narcissistic that he doesn't even have enough sense to get out of the way, and hire someone that does.

He could hire anyone, anyone - why does he only hire incompetents?
