Gordon Klingenschmitt, The Demon-Obsessed Anti-Gay Exorcist, Wins GOP Primary In Colorado

Last year, "Dr. Chaps" Gordon Klingenschmitt announced that he was running for a seat in Colorado's legislature and his long history as a disgraced former Navy Chaplain who brags about having successfully performed an exorcism on a lesbian soldier and who has stated again and again that demonic spirits are behind everything from abortion to gay marriage to ENDA to President Obama to Madonna won him the support of the vast majority of GOP caucus-goers earlier this year, setting up a primary showdown against another GOP hopeful which took place last night.

Klingenschmitt won that primary race by several hundred votes, becoming the official Republican nominee for House District 15 in the Colorado House of Representatives, as he announced on his Facebook page:

We won! Thanks to 35 volunteers knocking on doors and YOUR grassroots donations, I am now the Republican nominee for State Rep in Colorado Springs HD15.

The Denver Post reports "Gordon Klingenschmitt beat Dave Williams in the GOP race for the seat held by Rep. Mark Waller, R-Colorado Springs, who opted to run for attorney general..."

RESULTS: Klingenschmitt 52.6% (3,472 votes) Williams 47.3% (3,128 votes)

Isn't this great news? Honestly the race was closer than I expected, and I congratulate my Republican opponent for running a very competitive race. Now we must beat the Democrat.

However, we have some debt from the primary race. I just got a bill for $4,138 in printing costs and we have a few more bills outstanding, due this week.

Can you please contribute to help us repay our primary debt for this election victory? Then we can start from a clean slate to run against a common-core anti-gun Democrat in Nov.

Just let that sink in: a man who thinks that "Obamacare causes cancer," that the Bible commands people to own guns in order to "defend themselves against left wing crazies," and that the FCC is allowing demonic spirits to "molest and visually rape your children" is now a Republican candidate for office:

Klingenschmitt is a viciously anti-gay theocrat who openly proclaims that American law must reflect God's law, which is why gay people should be discriminated against since only people who are going to heaven are entitled to equal treatment by the government:

Gays, he says, have something inhuman and demonic inside of them, which is why he declares that teaching kids about gay marriage is mental rape and advocates that Christians should print anti-gay Bible verses on the backs of gay wedding photos:

Klingenschmitt has declared that the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy should never have been repealed since gay soldiers cannot serve effectively in combat because they are constantly "taking breaks on the combat field to change diapers all because their treacherous sin causes them to lose control of their bowels":

It is truly amazing that Colorado Republicans have now nominated a candidate for state office who proudly declares that "the ultimate hate speech is to endorse homosexuality because you give them the impression that it's okay and that deceives them and ultimately trips them into Hell":

LOL you are a funny girl. What's wrong with him? An easier question would be what's right with him.

Shocked at what he says? You really are new in here.

How did he get elected?! The crazy CM b****** if I had to guess. Some of these women in here do support what he says. Unbelievable I know.

More than right wing fascists are allowed to vote in regular elections so all the other side has to do is run someone who is sane against this wack-job.

LaBarbera: Chaps, you alluded to a story about an exorcism with a woman trapped in lesbianism. Tell us about that.

Klingenschmitt: Yes, well as a Navy Chaplain one of my first counseling assignments walked into my office and sat down with me was a young woman who had been raped. And it was tragic, I mean she was the victim of abuse and was going through a trial process where she was the witness against another sailor, they were both sailors, who was on her ship. But she said privately to me, "Chaplain, it was not consensual sex because I don't even like men, I'm a lesbian. So what should I do?"

And I wept with her and I cried with her and I asked her about her background; turns out she had been abused as a child by some men in her family and I said "let me ask you a question: all these men who abused you, where they full of the Devil or where they full of Jesus Christ?"

And she had to answer "well, of course they're full of the devil." I said that is proof right there, perhaps, that Jesus Christ himself can be the first man that you trust and I suggested we have a wedding ceremony and she got married to Jesus Christ as the first man she could ever trust.

She gave her life to Jesus. She welcomed the Holy Spirit. And I looked into her eyes as she began to weep and I said "you foul spirit of lesbianism, this woman has renounced you, come out of her in Jesus' name" and she began to wrestle with that and suddenly her eyes began to bug out and then she began to weep, and weep, and weep as the Holy Spirit forgave her sins.

She was baptized the next day and then she became one of the best evangelists in our church, started carrying around her Bible telling all of her friends about Jesus and she started dating boys.

"When they manifest sexual immorality," Klingenschmitt declared, "there's something inside of them that is manifesting and, on this show, we like to discern the spirits and I would say that's a demonic spirit that is manifesting inside of them and sinning by an act of their consent, of their free will, they're cooperating with the Devil and there is something unhuman in side of them ... There is something nonhuman inside of them and that should be discerned as something not human"

Several lines of psychological research relate to the concept of dehumanization. Infrahumanisation suggests that individuals think of and treat outgroup members as “less human” and more like animals.[4] Specifically, individuals associate secondary emotions (e.g. disillusionment, admiration) that are seen as uniquely human, more with the ingroup than the members. Primary emotions (e.g. anger, sadness) are those that all sentient beings, be either animals or humans, experience, and are found to be more associated with the outgroup.[4] Delegitimisation is when groups are categorized into extreme negative social categories which are excluded from treatment according to acceptable norms and/or values.” [5] Moral exclusion occurs when outgroups are subject to a different set of moral values, rules and fairness than are used in social relations with ingroup members.[6] When individuals dehumanize others, they no longer experience distress when they treat them poorly. Moral exclusion is used to explain extreme behaviors like genocide, harsh immigration policies, and eugenics but can also happen on a more regular, everyday discriminatory level. In laboratory studies, people who are portrayed as lacking human qualities have been found to be treated in a particularly harsh and violent manner.[9][10][11] Nussbaum (1999) identified seven components of objectification: "instrumentality," "ownership," "denial of autonomy," "inertness," "fungibility," "violability," and "denial of subjectivity".[7]Neuroimaging studies have discovered that the medial prefrontal cortex, a brain region distinctively involved in attributing mental states to others, shows diminished activation to extremely dehumanized targets (those rated, according to the Stereotype Content Model, as low-warmth, low-competence, such as drug addicts or homeless people).[12][13]
