 There are  - truths:

  1. ABORTION IS LEGAL
  2. ABORTION IS SAFE
  3. NO ONE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO CRIMINALIZE ABORTION
  4. THERE IS NO VAST WHITE CHRISTIAN CONSPIRACY TO CONTROL WOMEN'S BODIES
  5. THERE IS NO GOING BACK, so there is really no reason to post the inflammatory, scare mongering articles that are regularly posted on these topics
  6. ABORTION IS THE TAKING OF HUMAN LIFE
  7. ABORTION IS NOT PRO WOMAN - worldwide more baby girls are killed every year.
  8. ABORTION IS NOT HEALTH CARE -- health care is health care.  Fewer than 2% of abortions performed in America each year are to save the life of the mother.  Less 3% are a result of rape/incest.  Approximately 5 % are a result of a prenatal test indicating  possible health issue in the fetus.  So about 90% are elective.  You have a (legal)  right to do as you please with your body, (see #2)
  9. ABORTION IS NOT A SMART OR BRAVE CHOICE. IT IS A CHOICE THAT ENDS A LIFE, THAT YOU ARE LEGALLY FREE TO MAKE.
  10. ABORTION IS INTRINSICALLY EVIL.

Most of those are not even close to "truth" unless you are defining truth in some way that is not based on fact. *yes a truth and a fact can be two different things*

Some are truths.

Some are your opinion.

However, if you think there isn't a vast movement to either criminalize abortion or make it incredibly difficult to obtain, you haven't been paying attention.

I agree.

Ethicists are now arguing for "after birth abortion" on the grounds that a newborn isn't intrinsically different from a fetus, and that all the reasons for abortion still apply to the newborn.

I'm sure this too will be a "choice" in the near future.

No, they aren't.

Two ethicists wrote a paper about this - that's what ethicists do.  They play the "what if" game.  It was meant to be an exercise in logic to be debated with other ethicists.

This is there apology and explanation:

http://blogs.bmj.com/medical-ethics/2012/03/02/an-open-letter-from-giubilini-and-minerva/

"We started from the definition of person introduced by Michael Tooley in 1975 and we tried to draw the logical conclusions deriving from this premise.  It was meant to be a pure exercise of logic: if X, then Y.  We expected that other bioethicists would challenge either the premise or the logical pattern we followed, because this is what happens in academic debates.  And we believed we were going to read interesting responses to the argument, as we already read a few on this topic in religious websites.

However, we never meant to suggest that after-birth abortion should become legal.  This was not made clear enough in the paper.  Laws are not just about rational ethical arguments, because there are many practical, emotional, social aspects that are relevant in policy making (such as respecting the plurality of ethical views, people’s emotional reactions etc).  But we are not policy makers, we are philosophers, and we deal with concepts, not with legal policy."

Quoting Cass84:

I agree.

Ethicists are now arguing for "after birth abortion" on the grounds that a newborn isn't intrinsically different from a fetus, and that all the reasons for abortion still apply to the newborn.

some of those are facts but some of those are opinions. Opinions can't be truths.

"After birth abortion" it's called Euthanasia! That's how you know that it's not true you can't even use the proper term and no one is doing that! No one is arguing for the euthanasia of infants in America. Maybe Kim Jung Un is in North Korea but not here.

Do you think about things before you post them or are you our new troll?
