So, We had a record breaking new voter registration push this mid-term election....so thousands of brand new voters should be going to the polls today.

Here's what happens right now when you go to the My Voter Page in Georgia: You get an error message. So, if you were hoping to find your voting place today via the state's information page -- you know, because it's Election Day -- you are shit out of luck, my friends. And yes, since you were probably wondering, Republican Sec. of State Brian Kemp’s office maintains the website. The site has been down since 8am this morning.

Georgia secretary of state's voter info website crashes on Election Day

This is what the My Voter Page for the Secretary of States office had looked like for much of the morning.

  • This is what the My Voter Page for the Secretary of States office had looked like for much of the morning.

The voter website used by Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp's office to help people access important election information has not worked for some voters this morning.

Earlier this morning, CL began receiving reports that the secretary of state's "My Voter Page" website had crashed. The website provides important information about voter registration status and polling locations for voters.

Kemp spokesman Jared Thomas confirmed with CL that the MVP website was "experiencing intermittent problems with speed and many users are being directed to an error message." The office's IT teams are currently trying to resolve the problem, he says. For now, Georgia voters can view their registration status and find their polling places by emailing kemp@sos.ga.gov or calling 404-656-2871.

But Brandon Hanick of left-leaning political group Better Georgia raised concerns about the proposed alternatives. In a statement, Hanick said he tried calling the number this morning, but said he received a busy signal.

"Clearly, there's [no] way the office could handle the volume of voter information requests by phone," he said." I left a message with the Elections Dept. over an hour ago and have not received a return phone call."

You can find your polling location using several other options. You can visit either Google's home page, Yourfuckingpollingplace.com, or Iwillvote.com to find where you should cast a ballot. You can also text the word "VOTE" to 69520 to find out your polling station.

If one is such a dip-shit that they don't start looking to find out where their polling place is until today, they probably shouldn't be voting in the first place.

Did they not vote in the primaries?

Wait - workers get paid to register people, we don't think that a lot of those were Mickey Mouse, and Donald Ducks that weren't even real eligible voters, do we?

Yes - Yes we do.

Didn't expect you to hold the state official accountable for actually doing his job...you know....his...job....he's....paid.....to....do?

It's an awful interesting coincidence he slacks it off today.

Or they recently heard their polling place has changed. Or they have been busy. Or they have any other reason, none of which makes them a dipshit.

The dipshit is the one who believes that this is a coincidental technical error.

:/

Like those who will probably post below this comment.
