‘Choose me’: Sarah Palin says she’s ‘as vetted as anybody in the country’ for Trump’s VP

Sarah Palin speaks to CNN (screen grab)

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) on Sunday said that she is ready to serve as Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate, but she worried about being a “burden” to the presumptive nominee.

“I think I’m pretty much as vetted as anybody in the country could be vetted,” Palin told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “I think there are so many other great people out there in American that could serve in this position.”

“I think if somebody wanted to choose me, they already know who I am, what I stand for,” she added. “They wouldn’t be in for any surprises.”

But Palin acknowledged that she also came with baggage.

“I want to help and not hurt, and I am such a realist that I realize there are a whole lot of people out there who say, ‘Anybody but Palin,'” the former VP nominee admitted. “I wouldn’t want to be a burden on the ticket and I recognize that in many, many eyes, I would be that burden.”

“So, you know, I just want the guy to win. I want America to win.”

The 2 most clueless individuals in the entire country running for president and VP. I'm not sure whether to laugh at the idea or cry.

I can't believe she is endorsing him after he made fun of the disabled reporter. She has a disabled child. Who the fuck thinks that's ok?

Oh my god, this would be incredible! Unfortunately Donald isn't quite as dumb as he appears, so he would never do it but a girl can dream.....

God, would this be delicious!

Right, because that worked so well for McCain.

God, can you imagine the entertainment value? I'd start watching SNL again.

McCain chose her because she had a solid record as governor and an 80% approval rating, had removed several career criminals from office (both repubs, by the way -- Alaska attorney general and state head of GOP)... she was a good choice.

Then, the old coot allowed her to be thrown to the wolves and savaged beyond recognition by everyone including establishment repubs, who didn't like her either.

And before you start calling her (and me) a moooooron, let me point out that for each and every misstatement and silly thing she said, there is an equally bad (in some cases much worse) example made by the opposing candidates (57 states, anyone?  Charleston and Savannah are Gulf coast seaports? Children with asthma need breathalizer tests?)

No, I'm not supporting her for vice president. That ship has sailed.

Just pointing out the facts.

Well, admittedly I don't have all the "facts," but as I remember it, he barely vetted her before choosing her as his running mate. Then she started running her mouth and all was lost. Yes, I realize other candidates have made silly mistakes, but she just kept going and going and going. Compared to Trump, McCain was tame and sensible. Trump/Palin would be epic (hopefully an epic fail).

The thing is, she didn't "start running her mouth."  That's all part of the "moron" narrative the press sold us.

Remember Van Jones?  Obama's green jobs czar, the guy who thinks the democrats are way too moderate?  He had this to say about Palin in 2014:

"Sarah Palin .. people forget. She had the Democratic party shaking in our boots in 2008. She came out, she gave that speech at the convention. That was, hands down, one of the best convention speeches - not by a woman, by anybody in 2008. People were running for the hills.

Now it can be told! Now it can be told! We were scared!"
