Islamic Extremists Are Thrilled About Trump’s Win

Donald Trump is President-elect, and ISIS Couldn’t Be Happier

The horrifying spectre of a Donald Trump presidency is cheering ISIS extremists with ties to jihadist outfits in the Middle East. They are celebrating because they are fully aware that this presidency undermines the U.S. and its moral standing in the world. And this, my friends, is because Trump has advocated potentially unconstitutional blocks on Muslim immigration. He has also advocated torture, and so it is no wonder that the rest of the world is viewing this presidency with alarm—much to the delight of the jihadists.

Social media sites associated with the Islamic State and al-Qaeda are hailing Trump’s win as the beginning of “dark times” for the U.S., believing it will bring about domestic unrest and burgeoning foreign military campaigns that will sap America’s strength as a superpower.

“Rejoice with support from Allah, and find glad tidings in the imminent demise of America at the hands of Trump,” gloated the Islamic State-affiliated al-Minbar Jihadi Media network, one of several jihadi forums to post commentaries on the results of the U.S. election.

“Trump’s win of the American presidency will bring hostility of Muslims against America as a result of his reckless actions, which show the overt and hidden hatred against them,” the essay continued, as provided by the SITE Intelligence group. This is a private organization that monitors jihadist websites.

Al-Minbar is only one of several jihadist-supported online publications that has been capitalizing on Trump’s stupid statements about Muslims during the election campaign. The overall sentiment for this publication seems to be that alienating ordinary Muslims is crucial to their recruitment of foreign fighters. And Dabiq, an English-language magazine put out by the Islamic State, notes its terrorist campaign in Europe was meant to stir Western governments into an anti-Muslim backlash, thus forcing European Muslims to choose sides.

Another pro-al-Qaeda Twitter account is predicting that Trump will “make the U.S. Enemy No. 1 again” in the Muslim Middle East.

“Trump will serve as the perfect straw man for the next four years, like Bush did before him,” it claimed.

And one Lebanese English-language website collected a series of comments from noted Salafist ideologues.

“Trump’s victory is a powerful slap to those promoting the benefits of democratic mechanisms,” tweeted Hamza al-Karibi, who’s a media spokesman for the Syrian jihadist group Jabhat Fatah al-Sham.

This group is a former affiliate of al-Qaeda, but it has rebranded itself this year in an attempt to avoid being targeted by Russian and American airstrikes.

Jihadist ideologue Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi, who’s also linked to al-Qaeda, has nearly 60,000 followers on Twitter. And he’s thrilled about Trump’s victory. He suggests this “may be the beginning of America’s fragmentation and the era of its breakup.” In another tweet, he said Trump “reveals the true mentality of the Americans, and their racism toward Muslims and Arabs and everything. He reveals what his predecessors used to conceal. So his victory further exposes America and its appendages.”

Two months ago, the IS Telegram channel Nashir wrote this post in Arabic:

“I ask Allah to deliver America to Trump”…”The ‘facilitation’ of Trump’s arrival in the White House must be a priority for jihadists and any cost!!!”

The Muslim world in the Middle East has been cruelly subjected to the whims of the United States. The U.S. keeps jamming a stick into this gaping wound and while I don’t condone bombing and killing innocent people anywhere in the world, it’s not surprising why Islamic extremists are using this rationale.

According to the Council on Foreign Relations, the U.S. dropped an estimated 23,144 bombs in six Middle Eastern countries. Out of that number, 22,110 were dropped in Iraq and Syria.

So it’s hardly surprising why so many people in these countries don’t look upon the U.S. favorably.

Congratulations, Trump supporters. You’ve all been so busy hating Muslims, and so glad that the U.S. has been bombing them to smithereens that you’ve made Islamist extremists even more radical than they already are.

You’ve got your candidate, but it’s the rest of us that will pay your price.
