Diaper Review- Walmart Brand, Target Brand, Costco Brand, Huggies, Luvs, Pampers
Huggies (Little Snugglers and Little Movers and Slipons) - roughly .28 per diaper Huggies is a great brand. The material and construction is good. I never had an issue with leaking. The designs were adorable, not like that helps hold in the mess but hey they were adorable! The back and sides have elastic so its a more form fitting diaper that moves with your child. The infant sized diapers have a blue line that activates when the diaper becomes wet to alert you that baby has been to the potty, as well as a nice cut out for the umbilical cord. The material used on the inside is a cloth like feel, NOT a mesh so it doesn't stick to the skin. The Slipon diapers are a PAIN IN THE BUTT! Especially if you have a thinner child, yes you can slip them on but you have to take them apart and reattach them more snugly or they will slip right off. My rating an 7, the drawback is the cost. .28 per diaper adds up FAST!
Luvs- roughly .18 per diaper The cost is good, the absorbency is excellent the construction great, the drawback THE SMELL! They smelled horrible after DS would pee. I change DS as soon as I notice he is wet, HE DOES NOT sit in a messy diaper and these diapers as soon as he would go would stink! If Luvs would fix the smell issue these would be a favorite. There are no design flaws or construction flaws as far as the diaper goes, the diaper fits well and doesn't leak its just the smell issue. ICK! My rating 3.
Pampers- unknown I tried Pampers once, I don't know the price. I bought a pack and didn't even finnish them. The construction seemed to be good, form fitting diaper, no leaking issue. Why I didn't like them is the materials, the inside of the diapers don't have a cloth type feel, more of a mesh and would stick to my sons bottom almost like there was a glue and would leave weave marks. My rating 3.
Costco Brand- roughly .25 See huggies review, these are made by the same manufacture, the only drawback with the Costco Brand is the sizing is a bit different than the Huggies sizing so you need to double check the weight limit on the package. My rating 8.
Target Brand- roughly .17 per diaper These are similar to the Pampers brand with the inside mesh material. My BFF uses them and she said that the materials have changed. She gave me a few to try out 6 months ago and the construction was really good. No leaking issue at all, form fitting so they moved with DS, he is an active crawling baby. The designs on them are also very appealing. They are not characters but a bubble theme which is gender neutral and well "bubbly". I am going to pick up another pack and see if the inside material is more cotton like if so my rating would be a 9. If they still have the same Pampers mesh inside it would be a 4.
Walmart Brand- roughly .15 per diaper Overall best bang for your buck. If the Target Brand comes up with a better inside material that is more cotton like the deciding factor will be which store is closer or which has cheaper shipping. The construction is excellent, the inside material is cottony, no smell, the back band is fitted but not as much as the Huggies brand. However it doesn't affect the overall fittedness. The design is a bit more on the boy side. Teddy bears with blue accents so if you have a little girl that may be a drawback for you. My son is just at the walking stage, under the definition of active there is a picture of him. He is on the move constantly and these move with him and keep in the mess. At .15 per diaper they are a hands down winner. They may be cheap but they are not cheaply made or designed. My rating 9.
Shoppers Brand- roughly .16 per diaper Eha, not a bad diaper, but not a great diaper. The materials are fine its just a construction issue why I don't like them. The back of the diaper has no elestic so they are not fitted. A massive baby poop before solids and you will have a mess. Also the taps are way too sticky. I have ripped the diaper open trying to get the diaper off of DS. The design also isn't that good. They have a monkey theme and it just isn't as good as it could be. If your in a pinch and you need a diaper these will work but wouldn't be a long term choice for me. My rating 3.
