Funny thing is that all we wanted was the free prizes they were giving out...

A resort close to where we live was offering them if you come out to do the tour. They didn't really pressure us or anything to buy.

This was so much more than a resort though!

They had land for sale where you could build anytime you wanted to. No kidding. You can build whenever you want. We were kinda skeptical at first, but we saw why so many people in San Antonio like to live in the Hill Country (between San Antonio and Austin).

Its so beautiful! I wish I had some pics, but I'll post them later because they're on my hubby's phone!

It's about 0.54 acres of land with mature trees on a corner lot. And the best things were that it was a forclosure, $10,000 off the regular price, the property taxes were low, and it came with a free lifetime membership to the resort and any resort in the US owned by the company they're affiliated with. We'll be visiting often just to get away for the weekend and take the kids (because it's looking like we won't be able to have time alone for quite a while). The cabins are sooooooo cozy, and the kids (and the big kids) have a lot of things to do...mini golf, swimming, tubing on the Guadalupe river, going to Canyon Lake...

Well, we bought it....for $29,000 and plan to get it paid off before the 15 year period is up. We took a step out on faith. This puts us one step closer to the house that I really want, because I am a really picky person.

I'm planning out my house right now!!

That's great.  I am so excited with you.  I hope you'll post pics of the property and keep us updated on your home building progress.

This is gonna be so much fun for you and your family.

Congratulations    Even if you can't build for a while I bet the proprerty will increase in value and should you find another lot you want more there may be a way to trade up.  Be open for opportunities.  That sounds like a good price for a decent sized lot, but land values vary so much area to area.   Enjoy.
