Besides Elijah having Amblyopia and me having it as well (legally blind in my left eye).

How is his vision in each eye? Is it the same or is there an eye that has it worse?

His right is worse. He has no side vision field on that side and his left is better but not by much. His central vision is fine besides the Myopia issue.

Thank You! Did you realize you are the only group on here for vision issues? Seriously I have looked.

My daughter is blind. She reacts well to light but she doesn't track/follow hardly ever, and her optic nerves are very small. She can see something, we're just unsure as to how much or how clear.

How old is she? Gavin's best buddy at school has Optic Nerve Hypoplasia too.

1 mom liked this
Elijah is half blind in both eyes. (his left occipital lobe was removed during his last brain surgery, so he lost the right half of his vision in both eyes).

why did he have to have the brain surgery in the first place?

I am not sure if my son would be considered legally blind or not--to me he sees pretty well especially things far away-he surprises me sometimes-but small things especially words are harder.. But he can see the small legos and makes trains out of them-but then again his eye therapist from governor morehead worked hard with him on stuff like that-then again he is inches away from the floor when he's picking them up too and has them inches away from his face when he puts them together.... but his vision is only 20/100 with glasses and we went to a low vision center once and they tested him but said at his age there isnt anything they can give him to help him until he gets older and in higher grades where the words will be harder to see because they will be smaller. I have a kindle fire and i had the original kindle and am debating on giving him my old one where he can make the words big and I have been downloading books for his age with sight words. he likes my kindle fire as it is.
