So my son's eye therapist had talked about giving lucas some things to help him at the house too during his IEP meeting. She gave me a big notebook Binder that he can use it as a easel almost for writing and coloring so he doesn't bend his body all the way to the table and it brings things a little closer. She also sent him home with a magnfying glass to help him read his books, lucas had to show it to me-which is good that he seems eager to use it.... it's not an all page one but it will cover a sentence at a time.... Haven't put it to pratice yet-since he was sick and then me.... but I will....plus she has had him praticing at school with the scope (like a telescope) to help him see a board (like the white boards) when he gets to 1st grade. Unfortunanly I missed the 1st grade parent orientation because of being sick so i didn't get to meet the teachers or anything but the principal said she would send a packet home with lucas. So at least I have an idea of what to expect and how to help him during the summer to prepare him for 1st grade and the work he might be doing.
Mom to one and step-mom to 3, Future grandma to one Girl-to-be and one due in Jan. RIP Daniel Lee Burchett (4-13-92/9-11-10)
yeah which I am glad about .... Anything to help him so he can get this reading and writing thing down for 1st grade-I hate for him to have to struggle in school-because right now he likes school and loves to learn...
