They export you to Canada! :)

I need to know more about these "exchanges". Why can't I find any good information on what will happen to those of us that cannot afford to pay out pocket, do not have the option for employer-based insurance, and do not qualify for government assistance?
Quoting pauliewogmamma:
Wait... We all know that (generally) the cost of healthcare for those without insurance generally falls on the taxpayers. (when the uninsured go to the ER either for true emergencies or because they can't see a dr) So is the theory that the revenue from the "tax" on those peope will then be covering those unpaid medical costs?
Wouldn't an insured tax paying citizen be GLAD the tax is now falling back on the uninsured and not in their own laps?
That's under the assumption that hospitoals and doctors will stop price gauging those with insurance to make up the difference, In turn lowering insurance premiums. But new regulations in the bill forcing insurance companies to cover more and increase benefits will make our premiums rise, not fall. those who have a basic insurance plan, their premiums with sky rocket because insurance companies are now required to cover certain things, when before you could pick an insurance option that was right for you, like car insurance. Before you could pick how much coverage you wanted thus choosing which premiums you wanted to pay. Now, you can't.
And even if this werent the case, no way was insurance going to lower premiums. Just like how credit card companies had congress change the bankruptcy laws, saying that credit card interest rates were so high because people could walk away from their debt by filing for bankruptcy, causing others to pick up the debt. They had the law changed so that even if you declared bankruptcy, you still owe the initial debt, they just remove late fees and interest. This was supposed to lower interest rates. That was 8 years ago, interest rates are even higher, not lower. It's all a bunch of bullshit.

TAX COMPONENTS IN LAW
The healthcare law contains a slew of tax provisions. Most are narrowly targeted and their overall impact hits hardest on the wealthy, whose interests are often defended by Republicans.
One provision is a fee that will have to be paid by some people who lack health insurance starting in 2014. Many people, including the poor and Native Americans, will be exempt from it.
In total, the fee could hit about 4 million Americans in 2016, the Congressional Budget Office has estimated.
In 2014, the fee will be $95, or 1 percent of taxable household income. By 2016, the fee will rise to $695 per person, with a cap equal to the greater of $2,085 per family or 2.5 percent of household income.
Some of the law's other tax provisions have already kicked in, including an annual fee on drug manufacturers based on sales and market share, and an excise tax on medical device makers. A tanning salon excise tax also has been implemented.
Beginning next year, the Medicare insurance tax will rise to 2.35 percent of wages from 1.45 percent of wages for wealthy people with incomes exceeding $200,000 per individual or $250,000 for married couples.
In another provision hitting only people with high earnings, a 3.8 percent tax on investment income such as capital gains and dividends will be layered on top of the current 15-percent tax.
Starting in 2014, employers with more than 50 workers must pay a fee to the federal government of $2,000 for each full-time employee for which the company does not provide health coverage, though the first 30 workers are excluded from the fee.
Also in 2014, the government will begin charging fees on health insurers. This is expected to raise $8 billion that year.
The healthcare law aims to expand coverage to 32 million more Americans by 2019, reducing by half the number of people who otherwise would be uninsured at the end of the decade.
The law also provides tax subsidies to help families afford the mandated health insurance coverage.
A 5% plastic surgery tax was written into law. At the 11th hour, that was changed to a 10% tanning tax, which yields 1/6th of the money that 5% tax would have brought. I see red when it comes to taxes, but Europe is worse. And if you want to talk about welfare over there, if you manage to get off a plane you qualify. I'm still disgusted that there were bailouts for banks, but homeowners who are begging to work things out are being foreclosed on. The government will ALWAYS side with big business. Small business owners and the middle class will always be fucked. The middle class needs to uprise NOW. FUCK complacency. Americans need to riot.

Europe, we see how well it has worked out for Greece, spain, Italy, and portugal. Hello, euro crisis? Entitlements bankrupt countries. England raised college tuition because they were going bankrupt, and they rioted in the streets. Now Stockton California is declaring bankruptcy along with a few other states. Even California may do so if they don't cut GA programs. But they won't, because people will riot. They can't keep raising taxes, because even Hollywood is filming in Vancouver now instead of la or new York to get away from the taxes, making California's debt worse. You can't keep taxing, people will leave and go to other states. Stop spending so fucking much! Medicare PLUS government subsidized insurance is going to collapse our country. Mark my words, the fall of Rome is near. Near, as in 50 years. And I'm not a doomsday person. We are watching Europe go down the tubes and marching right behind them. Only Germany had enough sense to cut entitlement programs and now look, one of the most prosperous countries in Europe now. That's pretty significant considering the shambles we left them in post WWII. Angela merkel is my hero.

They're all cutting entitlement programs, Why is the US following what Europe did 25 years ago? It's not working out. I just don't understand why American's don't riot like the rest of the world. We are owned by the banks, and now healthcare companies. The FDA is a joke, and the majority of American's trust them. Monsanto owns S America, and they're feeding us poison that is sanctioned by the gov't. The masses won't do a thing until we're all half dead. I guess it's because so many of us are medicated, the poison is FDA approved. The depression of the masses is kept at bay. I know I sound nuts, but it's true. I try not to think about it myself, but when I do, I get riled up and really upset.
