I went to another town to do some shopping for DS' valentines day party. I was in walmart for 20 minutes (couldn't find what I wanted) and when I left, the parking lot was taped off, cops shut down the exit with flares, and there was a dead body at one of the parking lot entrances near applesbees.
I wish I could say it was my first time viewing a dead body, but sadly I can't. I don't think DD saw it. I immediately pointed towards the "fireworks" (flares). Then sat in traffic for an hour trying to exit the damn place.
I guess I won't be shopping in that town anymore.

The news just said it was a chick who got hit by a car. I thought for sure it's a shooting. There's certain parts in that town I don't go, like the mall and such. Too many gang shootings. E day before my birthday some dude drove through the mall parking lot firing a shot gun.
The FBI and LAPD were there a few months ago to help with the gang squad because some mexican cartel called el nuestra had started laying waste to the smaller gangs and taking over territory. As of right now salinas, ca is considered more dangerous than LA. Odd for a somewhat small farming town. But the violence is concentrated to downtown and gang members. So I just avoid downtown.
