Grilling Pizza - Spring Veggie Pizza on the Grill
Our family loves pizza. I mean loves the stuff. It's a weekly affair, so I've been trying to find a way to make it a little healthier. Now that the weather is warmer, we've been making more use of our grill, so I thought why not try to make a pizza on the barbeque! And guess, what? It worked.
First, I lined the clean grill with foil. I used a store brought crust and sauce, then used fresh mozzarella cheese and spring vegetables like onions, mushrooms, bell peppers and tomato for toppings. Cooking the pie on the grill allowed us to get that brick oven baked pizza flavor. The crust was extra crispy with a slight smoky flavor.
The end result was a tasty pizza for half the price and half the calories.
