What age did you or will you teach your kids to cook and what will be the first thing you teach them?

I started teaching my ds at 10yrs he can now proudly make his own scrambled eggs with supervision. :-)

I think that parents who don't let their kids do things (and sometimes get hurt) are doing their offspring a great disservice!

Wow that's impressive! I find a lot of parents aren't teaching their children simple life skills. My ds friend are in awe when he makes a batch of boxed brownies.lol

Our kids are very involved with all aspects of life from a very early age...my oldest made her first meal for us at age 8 - including a salad with her own dressing, and with chopped apples and nuts in it :) She used to help me bake when she could just stand.

The first thing they learn is to crack an egg LOL
