Yuck!  I would trash it for sure.  The other thing would be to take it to the store where you bought it, show them the date and the milk and try to get a refund.

The udders of these factory cows often have slight infections....I wish I could find a good reference right now, but I think I read it in an actual book from the library and the google search "machine milking puss" pulls up some...ummm...interesting hits.LOL

Basically, the milking machines are rougher on the teats than the calf or hand milking would be...the udder is also not closely inspected by a knowledgeable person twice daily...so sometimes cows will develop an infection and will be milked anyway...

The machines are getting better, but still...and don't worry, the milk is processed, and strained, and...well, of course it doesn't remove the growth hormones that the cows ingest in the attempt to make the cows able to breed earlier...but they DO pasteurize it...oh, my... DON'T get me started on THAT topic LOL...but it probably won't kill you despite how gross it is...

I wish people would see how important it is to drink raw milk from a small farm rather than these huge commercial factories where the cows are "worn out" by 2 years old and shipped off to become the meat on the grocery store shelves, after having eaten medicated feed her whole life...All the chemicals and medications the cow eats are passed on up the food chain, resulting in little girls starting puberty younger than 10...

Cheers :)

Yikes, what do you mean pus ?????

Quoting livewell:

Personally I wouldn't drink it...milk does not have to smell or taste bad to BE bad...I learned THAT the hard way!!

Something to keep in mind is that all commercial milk has pus in it...ewwww! Sorry but it's true...

Maybe you should take it back to the store - I know that I have returned milk products and gotten a replacement...

yep but when i took a drink it was just fine ! so i am thinking it is about to go bad :(

Quoting LovesFredric:

There is clumps in it!? Yikes!! Hey, we have bought meat before that said ok for such & such date, but it was already bad! Who knows! Better safe than sorry...

Are the lumps like cottage cheese or more like butter?  If it doesn't taste bad, it could be cream that didn't get all the way homogenized.  Did you buy whole milk or lower fat?  If it doesn't taste or smell bad, I would go ahead and use it.  If it was going bad, it would really stink!  Do you store the milk in the door or on a top shelf in the fridge?  It keeps way longer if put on the shelf than in the door.

This is NOT the case. Milk does not have to smell bad to make you sick! Just ONE example http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=489199
