Hamburger Prices in Your Area?

I just got sticker-shock at Safeway here in Oregon...

For lean ground beef:  $4.99 a pound!

We wait for it to go on sale or reduced for quick sale and usually can get it for $2-$3 a pound. Normal price is around $3.50 a pound at albertsons for 85/15. It goes up from there.  I live in Oregoin too andusually get our hamburger at Albertsons since they have the best prices for meat.  Safeway does have some good prices for chicken though

yup, that' what it is here in the grocery stores. 

i buy mine from a local farmer and dont' pay quite that much but people give me grief over how much i supposedly spend on "that" kind of food. lol.

These are guaranteed low prices at Wegmans in PA.

 I have an Acme near me that runs, nearly every week, 4 for $19.99 values on different meats and chicken.  That makes every package $5.  I try and get the largest chicken breast and chopped meat packages I can find to stretch the dollar.  Often they are in the 2 and a half pound range.  Sometimes whole chickens are on this deal, Italian sausage, nd turkey tenderloin.

I only buy when it's on sale, the last best price I saw was like 2.38, but regular price is definitely over $4!

3.98 lb for 80% at Walmart

$1 more for the 93% lean at both places
