Pizza is always a sure bet with our family. I know that it's a meal that everyone will eat. And, as I mom, I know that it's a great way to sneak in some veggies into my child's diet.
Now that it's barbeque season, we've been hitting the grill more than the take out. We've found a brand of fresh pizza dough from our local store that we love, and we've been making out own pies ever since.
Here's a recipe for our Hawaiian flat bread pizza. What makes it flat bread? First off it's square - which makes it easier to shape. Secondly, it allows me to make it thin, and therefore more crispy and crunchy, just the way we like it.
First grab some refrigerated pizza dough. It can also be the roll out kind that you get in a can.
Use a floured cookie sheet to shape your pizza into a nice long rectangle.
Spread out some sauce. I like to use tomato paste and Italian seasoning.
Next comes the cheese. Four our Hawaiian Pizza, I like to use both mozzarella and cheddar.
Add fresh cubed pineapple and Canadian bacon for the topping.
Heat grill and place heavy-duty tin foil directly on hot grill.
Place pizza on tin foil and cook until brown and bubbly.
Serve with a green salad.
Moms, what kind of pizza does your family love?
my family would love that one! we usually do peppers onions and bacon
