apple pie recipes....

Well my mother in law is coming over tomorrow for dinner. She loves apple pie so im trying to impress her. Do you have any good apple pie recipes thats not betty crocker or such that i may have? Id appreciate it alot! :)

yes, i even have homemade crust recipie for you. let me go get it.....

Homemade Pie Crust Recipe

(makes 8 single balls. can be frozen and taken out as needed)

4 cups flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon sugar

1 3/4 cups Crisco

Cut in and blend....should look like peas.

Add 1/2 cup cold water

1 egg

1 tablespoon vinegar

prick bottom of crust. bake 10 minutes at 450 before putting filling in pie crust

Mom's French Apple Pie

5-7 apples peeled and sliced

3/4 cup sugar

2 tablespoons flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

dash salt

2 tablespoons margarine

Mix the above ingredients in a large bowl. Then place in pie crust. Top with below recipe for topping

Pie Topping

1/2 cup butter (frozen and cut up)

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 cup flour

Mix above ingredients into clumps and and spread over apple pie

Bake at 425 for 1 hour

If you don't want your crust to get too brown line it with foil and bake it with the foil on.
