I have a craving for french toast this morning. So I wanted to look up some recipes to get something different than I normally do. Thought I'd share some with you Ladies.

French Toast I RecipeIngredients

  • 6 thick slices bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • salt to taste

Directions

  1. Beat together egg, milk, salt, desired spices and vanilla.
  2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle of skillet over medium-high flame.
  3. Dunk each slice of bread in egg mixture, soaking both sides. Place in pan, and cook on both sides until golden. Serve hot.

this is my french toast:

I dont measure, I just throw in what I think is enough for 4 people, sorry

4 or 5 eggs

milk, maybe a cup or 2, I like the batter eggy

cinnemon, nutmeg, vanilla,

juice of one orange (or orange liquer that is really nice), orange zest

real maple syrup,

whisk it all up

I use challa bread, its nice and eggy, let them soak up the batter, fry on a griddle with some butter so they dont stick...the slices get almost carmelized because of the syrup in the batter...

butter and warmed real maple syrup on top and eat!
