I have only made ribs once myself...so I looked up some recipes for you.

Insane Oven Beef Ribs

Insane Oven Beef Ribs RecipeIngredients

  • 2 pounds beef short ribs
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup red wine
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pinch curry powder

Directions

  1. Place the ribs in a large pot, and fill with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, and cook until the meat is no longer pink, about 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). In a medium bowl, stir together the soy sauce, red wine, olive oil, flour, brown sugar, garlic and curry powder.
  3. Drain the ribs, and coat generously with the sauce. Arrange them on a baking sheet.
  4. Roast for about 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until fork tender. Pour the remainder of the sauce over the ribs about halfway through.

Ribs Fantastic

These sound good and it doesn't call for boiling them first. I actually didn't boil mine either.

Ribs Fantastic RecipeIngredients

  • 4 pounds beef short ribs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup grated celery
  • 1/2 cup grated onion
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. Place ribs in a baking pan. In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, ketchup, water, vinegar, lemon juice, celery, onion, salt and pepper. Mix well, then pour over ribs in pan.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 3 hours, or until tender.

Barbeque Style Braised Short Ribs

Barbeque Style Braised Short Ribs RecipeIngredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 5 pounds lean beef short ribs, cut into 3-inch pieces
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 large onion, cut into thick slices and separated into rings
  • 5 carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 4 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
  • 1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup barbeque sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. Heat oil over medium heat in a large, heavy, oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, and brown the ribs on all sides, about 5 minutes, working in batches if necessary. Sprinkle ribs with salt and black pepper as they brown. Transfer cooked ribs to paper towels to blot up extra oil.
  3. Stir the onion rings and carrots into the same pot, and cook and stir until the onions turn translucent and start to brown, about 8 minutes. Stir in the garlic, and cook until fragrant, about 1 more minute. Mix in tomato sauce, barbeque sauce, and beef broth; bring the sauce to a boil, and simmer for 1 minute to blend flavors. Stir in the browned ribs.
  4. Cover the pot, and bake in the preheated oven until the rib meat is very tender, about 2 1/2 hours. Turn the ribs occasionally while cooking. Season to taste with salt and black pepper before serving hot.

I make some in the crock pot. Just the ribs and bbq sauce and cook them on low all day. 6-8 hrs. Or high 3-4
