IDK about your family but my hubby and boys LOVE the frozen burrito's from like wally world lol. But as I was looking to cut down on food expenses and still give my family what they liked to eat I stared looking on line and found a GREAT make ahead recipe for these lil quick heat quick eat treats.
you will need:
3 packages of flour tortia shells
3 lbs ground beef
1 can refried beans
2 onions chopped
1-2 taco seasoning packs
2-3 packs of shreded cheese
you can add things like green peppers, black olives hot peppers. just use your imagination and your taste palat.
start off by cooking your hamberger and onion together. When the meat is done drain and add your seasoning packets acording to directions. Next add your refried beans to your meat mix stir together and set aside. Then take your tortias and stack em up on a plate. Now assembel your burritos like you would if you were making them to eat right off the bat. ie... Meat, Cheese,Black olives. next fold your burritos. fold both ends and roll up stick a tooth pick in the center and set on a cookie sheet. Fit as meny as you can on the sheet. do this till allyour meat mix is gone Finaly put the cookie sheets with burritos on em in the freezer let freeze for about an hour or till firm. after they are frozen take out tooth pick and put burritos in a big freezer bag. Now you have individual burrittos for an after school snack or you can take a bunch out for a dinner. top with sour cream lettus more fresh chopped onion ,tomatoes and ENJOY!!!
I love this idea! Thanks for sharing your recipe. My hubby is Latin and loves burrito's. This will save me a ton of time on days where I'm rushing around trying to figure out dinner.
