Our kids are extremely active. Anyone have recipes that are low in sugar but high in flavor?
I would love to feed our kids somehting tasty and delicious but at the same time low in sugar. Sugar is not necesarily a bad thing but I want to be able to feed these kids without worrying that they will be hyper-active. I am a big fan of smoothies and oatmeal. Here are my top two.
Banana Oatmeal Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 2 whole Chiquita Bananas (best with brown flecks on peel)
- 2 cups Ice
- 1/3 cup Yogurt - preferably Greek yogurt flavored with honey
- 1/2 cup Cooked oatmeal
- 1/3 cup Almond
Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup soy milk
- 12 cup rolled oats
- 1 banana (broken into chunks)
- 14 strawberries (frozen)
- 12 tsp vanilla extract
