I told my four year old son last week, that I was going to make pigs in a blanket for our upcoming holiday party. He was not too keen on the idea. Leave it to a four year old to take the literal definition of a seemingly harmless appetizer to the next level.

All jokes aside, I am very excited to make these franks wrapped in a flavorful, flakey crust for our party. The recipe is simple and the ingredients are easy to find. Here's how to make them:

Reynolds® foil

1

package (8 oz.) refrigerated reduced fat crescent rolls

1 1/2

teaspoons dry barbecue seasoning blend

4

slices Cheddar cheese, cut in half

8

light beef franks

PREHEAT oven to 375┬░F. Line a cookie sheet with Reynolds foil.

SEPARATE dough into triangles on parchment paper. Sprinkle each triangle with barbecue seasoning. Place cheese on wide end of triangle, leaving 1/4-inch of dough around cheese. For an added kick, try pepper jack cheese instead.

ROLL UP each hot dog, starting with the wide end of triangle, rolling toward the point.

BAKE 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.

Moms, what are your favorite holiday appetizers for a crowd?

These sound good to me! I bet he will love them!

I liked making the little smokies for everyone. I'm going to make a hot spinach and artichoke dip to go with some tortilla chips tonight for us to munch on. I am going to make stuffed mushrooms for snacking on on Thanksgiving...so good!

I actually just made a ton of these this past weekend, although they may not be the classiest of snacks for a christening, they keep the boys/men happy :)

We don't eat hot dogs but sometimes I make them with sausages.

pigs in a blanket are a huge hit at parties with the grandchildren. I just put a piece of crescent roll around a half hot dog and bake.
