Depending what you are frying, you danger similar results by baking with shoo at a high temp. I make nuggets and French fries this way. Cut fries, toss in evil to coat, lay insingle layer on cookie sheet and bake at 500. Flip when brown.

I rarely use salt.

use meat sparingly if at all

keep a bowl of raw veggies onhand while cooking high-calorie foods so you wont be tempted to "taste" so much

braise or roast potatoes instead of frying them

Follow the fruit and veggie rainbow....colors! You eat with your eyes first.

Everything in moderation.
