Do you add anything to your grilled cheese to "spice" it up a bit? I have heard of people adding all kinds of things =)

I do not usually but I have been known to add a piece of deli ham. Of course, then it is not a "grilled cheese", it is a "grilled ham and cheese". So, no, I do not add anything to my grilled cheese. :)

I sometimes add tomato, pesto or basil, or ham.

Maybe sweet pickles for me or meat. My husband adds other things

My dh butters the outside and adds some mustard to the inside with cheese.
Personally, I use butter on the outside, and thick slices of sharp chedder to the inside. Yumm.

Use mayo instead of butter on the outside
