I'm tired of cabbage rolls and cabbage & noodles! I'm thinking maybe some kind of cabbage casserole?

I need ideas!

We make an Americanized version of a dish called "bubble and squeak" which is an English dish.  My husband browns ground beef and puts it in the bottom of a baking dish.  He sautees onions and spreads them over the meat.  He then steams cabbage until soft and chops it and spreads if over the meat and onions.  Then he makes a bechamel sauce (which is a basic white sauce) with lots of black pepper and covers the entire dish and bakes it.

It is good.
