Summer Party Planning Challenge Day 5: Make Meal Packets!

Are you looking for something a little different to add to your party menu. Today's challenge is to make meal packets ahead of time. These packets are easy to make and very easy to store.

You can get creative with your meal packets. If you don't want to do them ahead of time, you can let your guests get involved in the fun and pick their own ingredients.

Here is a basic ingredient guide that you can include in your meal packets:

  • Meats- Chicken breast cutlet, pork chop, shrimp, scallops, beef, or fish fillet.
  • Vegetables- asparagus, broccoli florets, chopped tomatoes, peppers, sliced carrots, mushrooms, or zucchini.
  • Tasty liquids- soy sauce, wine, citrus juice, stock, sauce, or marinade.
  • Seasonings- salt, pepper, lemon, scallions, or herbs

Have you ever made meal packets? Would you make these ahead of time or let your guests make their own?

I haven't done meal packets for guests, but I have made them for my family.  It's probably not something I would do for a party.

I want to try these for my family but I probably wouldn't do them for a party.

Meal packets are sort of individual takes on a meal. But with such a variety of eating preferences and medical reasons (diabetics, allergy, etc), it would solve a lot of problems and bring a lot more people together.

Not in a very long time. But those would be great to take camping.

I think I would let people do them themselves. I am a picky person and I know others are too. Since the party I am having is a grown-up pool party, I might do a luau theme... I'd do grilled kabobs, but I don't have a grill... Lol

I tend to do them more when we are camping than I do when home.

I have never made them. They sound like something I'd enjoy.
