Barbeque Shortcuts Part 1 - Throw on a Pizza
Tired of just burgers and dogs on the grill? I know that after the fourth of July festivities, my family is going to be begging for something a littler different. That's why I already have my wheels turning and am thinking on more of an Italian route. We are going to try our luck at making pizza!
The key to successfully making pizza on the grill is to use a strong tinfoil base. Either buy the heavy duty kind or double up on regular strength. Place on the grill and use some non stick cooking sray. Place your pie right on top and let it cook. You'll know it's done when the toppings are melted and bubbly, and the crust is stiff (standing up to your spatula).
Here are a few ideas for toppings. Go ahead and use refridgerated crust for an easy meal:
Feta cheese and spicy sausage
Pepperoni and green peppers
Canadian bacon and grilled pineapple
Roma tomatoes, garlic and basil
Bacon, chives and tomatoes
Ground beef, cheddar and green onions
Moms, what would you put on your grilled pizza?
