Hotplate - Yes or No?

Hotplates are a great convenience tool for any kitchen. It's a must especially if you are a frequent entertainer.

They are reasonably priced and can be purchased at a discount store or a department store. You can get a double or single version burner.

I have both kinds and they more than pay for themselves in convenience during holidays and family parties. They become a regular part of our food buffets and keep our hot dishes hot for long periods of time. They can warm or cook, depending on your needs. I once used one to keep a cheese dip bubbly and hot for an entire football game.

So what are some interesting ways to use a hotplate? Take your kitchen outside and cook on the patio. You can also take it camping or bring it with you to picnics or potluck events.

Moms, do you have a hotplate in your kitchen?

I think that's what the chefs use on some of those guest appearances where there is no kitchen. Do these hotplates come with a coaster?

I've never even seen a hotplate other than in photos or videos.
