Measuring Cups for Dry and Wet Ingredients
You might think that all measuring cups are created equal, but they are not. If you are a serious baker, it's best to have measuring cups for both dry and wet ingredients because even a small discrepancy in measurements could ruin a recipe. These aren’t simply gadgets but necessary tools!
A regular measuring cup will not always measure wet ingredients correctly. That's why it is best to get a measuring cup that measures a few inches below the top of the container because if you have to fill it all the way to the brim, your measurements will be off due to spillage. Similarly this type of measuring cup is not good for dry ingredients. If you have to tap it on a counter to let the contents settle, it can become packed and you will end up with more than you measured for. Any type of measuring cup that can be leveled off is good for dry ingredients.
Moms, do you have both types of measuring cups in your kitchen?
