Okay, I love making sugar cookies as much as the next person during the holidays, but there has to be another use for these handy kitchen tools? Use them as molds to make homemade bird feeders.
This is cookie cutter bird feeder craft is one that you can easily do at home with your kids and it takes no more than 30 minutes to prep and complete. They make great gifts too!
Here's what you'll need:
One packet or plain gelatin
Several cookie cutters
¼ of a cup of water
¾ cup of birdseed
Boil water and dissolve gelatin.
Add birdseed and mix thoroughly. If there is still a bit of liquid at the bottom of the pan, add more seed.
Next arrange cookie cutters on wax paper.
Fill each cookie cutter half way with seed mixture.
Place twine in the middle of each cookie cutter and then place the remainder of the birdseed mixture on top until the cookie cutter is full.
Let dry over night.
Hang on your favorite tree and watch the birds have fun with their new toys.
Moms, what else do you use your cookie cutters fore beside cookies?
